Having somebody count objects inside patients, and account for them, is supposed to be part of a surgical procedure. In my state objects left inside the body are an exception to the usual 7 year statute of repose for malpractice suits, because it's such an obvious culpable error by the doctor.

Could be worse. When I had my vasectomy, my Doctor managed to lose his name tag in there.

Should an autopsy ever be performed on me, Dr. Zimmerman is probably going to get an awkward phone call.

If someone can find Lisa Simpson screaming from the operating room balcony that would work.

I could not find it.

What's wrong with learning a new technique from a DVD? She didn't learn how to the surgery itself like that, just a new technique.

The knee bone's connected to the something.
The something's connected to the red thing.
The red thing's connected to my wrist watch...
Uh oh."

How is that even possible?

Also attended a conference for it. The issue isn't that she put a glove inside her (her goal of maintaining the cavity insufflated was in fact achieved), the problem was that she didn't tell anybody she did it, so when it came time to account for the objects used in the surgery, nobody knew to account for the glove.

A dumb mistake for sure, but it's not like she got an online GED in medicine.

You should have concurred.

I need a diagram to see how it was left such that the patient could identify it, yet it had to be taken out surgically.

Don't worry, according to Oobama, you don't need a doctor, your waitress will suffice.
