Lois Lerner's appearance on Capitol Hill this week reminds us that, to date, she has become the face of the IRS stonewall: the refusal to tell the American people the truth about the agency's targeting of groups and individuals as part of a political persecution of conservatives.

She really is a witch!  Conjured that one up out of thin air.

2014-03-06 11:16:07 AM
O'Donnell's not a witch.  She's me/us.  All our tax records have been breached.

I did nothing wrong.

Great...tell us about the things you did that weren't wrong.

Not to be unappreciative of the headline, but O'Donnell didn't even try to use witchcraft (or Satanism, which she also claims to have dabbled in) to protect herself. She depended on evangelical Jesus, and this is where it got her.

She could probably get some big donations from LaVey, he seems like the sort of guy who would find her campaign for the lulz.

For some reason I clicked it, and started the video. And Chris Christie stood at the podium, tilted back his head, and let forth a frenzied swarm of locusts which blotted out the sun.

I think that's what happened anyway.

the IRS placed an erroneous lien on a home I no longer owned.
The lien was stamped in New Castle County, Delaware. The county executive at that time was Chris Coons, the man who wound up defeating me in the election for the U.S. Senate seat

She thinks a county executive can file a lien on behalf of the federal government?

Can you PROVE that the government didn't illegally access her records, notice it was public information, and then tipped off her opponent to the public records?

See, proof positive she was targeted.

How can a lien be placed on a home you no longer own? Does she really believe that Obama called up the IRS and said "call Chris Coons and have an erroneous lien placed on a home Christine O'Donnell no longer owns and then release the information to the public in 2014. That will really kill her chances of winning in 2010. BAWAAAAAAA"?

One question: is this the same house she was using campaign funds to pay her bills for, or is this a different house?

Honestly I don't remember any coverage of a lein in her campaign: it was all about embarrassing clips of her from Politically Incorrect and her attempts to fight back against the mocking those clips caused leading to further embarrassment. I don't even remember much coverage of the campaign fund issue to be honest.

This. O'Connell aside, hey Teatards, when you're putting together groups with titles like "Patriots Who Would Rather Die Than Pay Taxes", "Taxes Are Theft Boy-Howdy" and apply for tax-exempt status the IRS isn't doing their job if they don't give you a closer looksie.

Scrutiny ≠ persecution.

Same.  "Sporadically employed anti-masturbation activist who spent twenty years working on a Communications degree and had to go on TV to deny she was a witch."  It sounded like a ridiculous character out of a Carl Hiaasen novel.

The "witch" one-liner joke turning into a perpetual millstone to her political career just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

2014-03-06 12:55:14 PM
He told me that a few hours after I issued a media advisory for a news conference at which I was to announce my candidacy for the U.S. Senate, someone had breached my confidential IRS records. Later that same day the IRS placed an erroneous lien on a home I no longer owned.

The lien was stamped in New Castle County, Delaware. The county executive at that time was Chris Coons, the man who wound up defeating me in the election for the U.S. Senate seat and who sits in that seat today.

Let's dig through wikipedia a bit and look at the timeline.
When O'Donnell announced she was running, another Republican, Chris Castle, was already in the race.  Now, Castle was a US Representative, former Governor of Delaware, and former Lt. Governor of Delaware.  Christine O'Donnell used to have a part-time guest spot as a panelist on Bill Maher's talk show, and had run for a Senate seat in 2006 getting 4% of the vote, and again in 2008 losing to Joe Biden 35% to 65%.

Are we supposed to believe that Chris Coons heard that a two-time loser already well known as a dingbat had entered the race and was so concerned that that very day he hacked into federal IRS records, looked up her tax information, decided to put a erroneous lean on her property, and then chose to use property she no longer owned instead of the just as 'easy' choice of using property she still owned?  And that he was so scared that he used these magic powers against her instead of his other opponent with a proven history of actually, you know, winning?

Honey, you were a crazy witch.  And while you say you aren't a witch anymore, the crazy has not gotten better.
