When I was younger I used to wonder why people walked around with dirt on their head.

Now I know.
To support the fish industry.

I only saw one today.  Weird.  Usually I encounter an entire cabal.

LOL... I guess it's a Catholic thing or something..  I'm glad they marked themselves so I can steer clear of them :P

/Baptists laugh at their shenanigans

Whenever you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces so as to show others that they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that your fasting may be seen not by others but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. (Matt. 6:16-18)

LOL...thanks for quoting from a book you find so ridiculous you bookmark parts so you can post them on the internet to show how ridiculous they are because ....you...find it so damn ridiculous, you can't stop laughing.

LOL.

Did you ACTUALLY READ the article, subby?

It's about a LUTHERAN minister who is also a WOMAN!!

The RCC is not the only church the observes Ash Wednesday or the Lenten Season!

I did find it ... incongruous ... that this was part of the text for the service (Episcopal) I went to today.

/Baptist by training, but I like a lot of the way the High Church deals with the Lenten season.

There is NO Episcopal HIGH church. All Episcopal churches observe Ash Wednesday. In fact, some of our churches do Ashes To Go.

//Cradle Episcopalian so I know the TEC very well.

I saw two priests at a train station offering "Ashes to Go" today.

I must admit this was before my morning coffee and it took an awfully long time to register that it wasn't "Asses to Go".

Only saw two people 'marked' today. Those were at work. I assume I could have gone past others but they were covered by hats.

Doesn't matter - it's all worshiping the zombie in sky which shows how shallow worshipers are.

Now on the other hand, who do you think is the best Batman because I think Michael Keaton, while witty, showed too much vulnerability, especially in the scene where the Joker took advantage of the lack of chemistry between Keaton and Basinger,

Now Bale and Ledger (did you know he was in Brokeback Mountain?) showed the humility of man when confronted with sin.

Anyway, these religious assholes make me sick.

Yes there is. Google Anglo-Catholic. Examples include Church of the Advent in Boston and Christ Church in New Haven, CT.

Meanwhile there are some "low church" Episcopalians that look like Methodists. Some in Houston - don't remember the church.

But you're right, I've never heard of an Episcopal parish that doesn't observe Ash Wednesday (or Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, All Saints, Whitsuntide, Trinity, etc.) Episcopalians are liturgical and observe the liturgical year, like Catholics and Lutherans.

Well, what's a sky wizard or two between friends? They all worship the same fairy tale.
