Yea, I guess, but how about we revive Johnny Dangerously?

See, that's a good performance by Keaton.  One can almost believe that he actually means it when he says it.

But then, he's an actor, unlike Batfleck who only knows how to play Ben Affleck.

I'm just hoping Snyder has a falling out with the producers for whatever reason so Affleck has to take over as director. I still maintain Man of Steel had all the ingredients to be fantastic just that Snyder turned it into something only average.

I thought he was pretty awful at it. I might buy into Burton being the best director, but it's absurd to even say Keaton should have ever been considered for the role. Not the right build, not the right look, not the right tone for the character. He simply doesn't share any of the innate traits of Bruce Wayne, no more qualified than Nicolas Cage is to play Superman.

And Ian McKellen isn't the right build or look for Magneto and look how awful that turned out.

Keaton brought a bit of gravitas to a role that was previously silly.  Was he perfect for it?  No.  But his tongue was rarely in his cheek and he gave Bruce an everyday believability.

This can, and will, be said of every single person who ever plays batman. I'm not saying you cannot hold that opinion, but bear in mind there is no one single character "batman". Unless you are a true originalist and want to go back to the first comic book run or something.

Although I think we can all agree anything wearing a nippled suit is ridiculous.

OK, here's an idea. Before passing judgement on something that hasn't even happened yet, how about we wait until the movie is released, perhaps read the critics reviews and even a spectrum of fan reviews. Then, based on what you've read decide to see it or not. If you're on the fense, go to a early show which are usually cheaper and if it so bad that you can't watch it, have a plan to theater hop into a show you do want to watch.  Then and only then, come here and biatch, gripe and complain about the casting choice.

Or you can just continue to biatch, gripe and complain now which will have no effect on what is to come.

This being FARK, I am sure you'll act in a well thought out and reasonable manner.

//I can't believe I type all that with a stright face.

To me, he was the 2nd best Batman as Adam West was the best. Though I know it was campy, I loved the 60s Batman. So Adam West will always be #1. Keaton is a close #2. The rest a very large distance away... I think Bale at #3 and Kilmer and Clooney way out as #4 and #5 (Bat Nipples).

I don't think Clooney was actually a great fit either, but you're conflating the script and direction with the actor's ability to embody the role. If Clooney had Burton or Nolan directing it would have been a different story. This is also why Keaton gets a pass from so many people, if he had Schumacher directing he'd be universally panned as terrible.

Director and script aside, Keaton was the worst for the role.

Kilmer wasn't panned, though.  People acknowledge that Kilmer tried and did alright, and the movie itself wasn't that bad and the support cast(outside of O'Donnell) was good to great.  Clooney mailed it in and he got no help from his cast or his director in making a decent movie.  He wasn't ready to carry a movie and Clooney isn't a campy Batman.  Keaton and Clooney could have switched and both would have worked.

I think hes the best voice for Batman. But not the best filmed Batman. I think he had the best Batman but since he only voiced the character, though it is much harder, and he did not act the character in real life. He is not included in the list of best Batman actors.

While I also think Keaton was the best, this 2012 poll had Bale as the best by far:
http://www.theguardian.com/film/filmblog/poll/2012/jul/18/best-batma n- poll

57 percent Bale to Keaton's 20 percent (he came in second).

In two 2013 polls, Bale had only a slight lead over Keaton:

http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=464747

So, in short, while I disagree with the general public, there is no need for the Supreme Court to step in and appoint Bale president. He won it fair and square.

Slightly off.  It's West, unquestioned.... then a large distance away is Kilmer (looked the part, retained some humor), then Keaton (wrong for the part, performed OK in lousy movies)... then a very large distance away is Clooney (not much of an actor, looks like a Bowery Boy), then Lewis Wilson (originality)... then a ridiculously distant speck is Bale (looked the part, grunts and growls like a clubbed wolf with a tracheotomy, bad acting choices, underwritten role, terrible movies).
