Absolutely.  Everyone who has ever eaten has died.  True fact.  Study it out.

It's probably still better for your health than not eating is.

It's been estimated that as many as 100,000,000,000 human beings have died

/there's only about 7,000,000,000 alive right now

100% of life activities end in death.

It's true. I have studies.

Actually the lesson is "eat more salad."

Which, funnily enough, was always the lesson.

Apparently fibre is still good for you.

Faced with a choice of eating bran and farking bunny food til I'm 120, or chocolates and beer and ribs and dead at 80, I know what I'm going to choose.

Lies!

I have eaten and have not died even once. As a matter of fact, I suspect you of having eaten and not dying too.

On topic: not all fat is bad, only trans fat, hydrogenated fat and saturated fat are bad. Unsaturated fat is fine to eat.

Quit smoking 2 years ago - 50 pounds. High fat / low carb since November - 48 pound loss. Last week, my wife had to bring up my old clothes from the basement. Blood work in last week - cholesterol not unchanged but not great.

However, we also propose that at older ages, it may be important to avoid a low-protein diet to allow the maintenance of healthy weight and protection from frailty

Finally, something to look forward to.

Headline actually isn't far from the truth - IIRC caloric restriction is one of the only ways we can reliably extend lifespans in the lab.

Observations:
Altering one's diet drastically literally overnight causes problems.
Too much protien with very low to no fat/carbs WILL kill you. (Rabbit starvation, look it up.)
Too much fat WILL kill you.
Lack of certain vitamins will make certain fun things happen that can eventually kill you.
Too much of ANY meat will cause some sort of health issue eventually.

Seen translations of ancient texts and modern science back up these observations. Keep it balanced and things tend to stay even. These are long term observations, watching people around me in different parts of the world and seeing what fun health issues seem strongest in each place.

You could just decide to concisely change your entire life style. It's not that hard, you just have to do it.

I have completely and totally changed my lifestyle to conform to this diet I'm on and it has shown some pretty amazing results. It's not easy, and it's not magic, but it does work if you show some willpower and dedication.

What might save us is the bacteria in our gut.  So, of course, the bacteriophobes at the FDA and USDA want to eliminate all live bacteria from our diets.  For our own good, of course, not just because they are a bunch of Neurotic Nasty Nellies.

For some reason that looks sarcastic to me. I genuinely mean it. I dropped about 95lbs and quit smoking 7 weeks ago. Having to step up my exercise to accommodate for the extra snacking I've been doing has been great to clear my head and not think about smoking.

Thanks! You go to Lowes or Home Depot and pick up a 50 lb bag of fertilizer and realize that's what you were carrying around.... and now it's just gone.

I don't know about Science, but vast majority of the scientists that I know are strongly in favor of coffee.
