Jackson Herring: GIULIANI: Putin decides what he wants to do and he does it in half a day, right? He decided he had to go to their parliament. He went to their parliament. He got permission in 15 minutes.

CAVUTO: Well, that was kind of like perfunctory.

GIULIANI: But he makes a decision and he executes it, quickly. Then everybody reacts. That's what you call a leader. President Obama, he's got to think about it. He's got to go over it again. He's got to talk to more people about it.

This is the epic facepalm over all this.

If Obama was "decisive" and made swift action in Ukraine, threatened military action to back up the Ukrainians, ect, you'd hear a deafening Category 5 Derpstorm from the RNC/Right-Wing Blogosphere/FOX News about impeachment, about overstepping his power, about needing to get Congressional approval. . .just like happened with Syria.

If he DOESN'T do the above, instead he gets a derpstorm about how he's a pussy who won't be strong and decisive.

It's the usual "damned if you do, damned if you don't" bullshiat from the Reich-wingers, but this time it's farking geopolitics with Russia trying to rebuild the USSR and/or Russian Empire.

DrSansabeltNoShiatSlacks: I hope all you yungins' who missed the 'cold war' can die in a mushroom cloud.

I don't see why you'd wish ill on those of us who missed it. Wishing ill on those who miss it and want it back, I can see...

Vacation Bible School: zamboni: Kiriyama9000: I was 3 when the last Cold War ended and have no recollection of it. Glad to see that I'll get to finally get to experience one :)

Oh, you're going to love it! Countries will do things for absolutely no logical reason whatsoever! It was thrilling!

Red Dawn always struck me as being written by two VERY different people.

It's got the RAH-RAH 'MURICA parts, but then there are the parts like the guy with the "FROM MY COLD, DEAD HAND" bumpersticker having a Russian soldier take his gun from his cold dead hand. And the INCREDIBLE downer of an ending.

The Stealth Hippopotamus: Gyrfalcon: Why are we making WWIII out of a minor incursion into Ukraine?

And how was WWI kicked off?

When the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.  Didn't you pay attention in Home Ec?

Scheduled months ago and all nuclear powers were notified ahead of the launch. Still somewhat poignant timing (though coincidental).
