Time to replay Arkham City...

You just knew Arkham Origins was a holdover, this is what we've been waiting for.

As long as Kevin Conroy is still Batman I'll be happy.

You already got the Batman movie you deserve, and it was called Batman Returns (1992).

Hope you enjoyed it.

Hot damn! Looking forward to Rocksteady Batman game again! I enjoyed Gotham City Orgins.

I Love them all. As long as they are good. The Spider-Man games were good, some of the avengers team ones were nifty

I prefer Nolan Bat movies and Snyder Man of Steel and Watchmen over Marvel movies. But Marvel movies are great fun in their own ways. Ramis First two Spider-Man movies were good, as well as Xmen 1 &2 and first Class. Heck I even enjoyed The Amazing Spider-Man more than Ramis take in some ways.

Best Batman ever released in theaters,

Batman Return sucked donkey balls. Burton is way overrated on his adapted work ( his original stuff is great)

I liked the new Spider-Man compared to the Tobey one. Andrew Garfield has the sarcastic wit that makes Parker great. I felt Tobey was missing that. He was just such a sad-sack.

But I do think Spider-Man 2 had the best villain from any comic book movie. Doc Ock was just awesome. The perfect tragic villain.

That sounded like Patrick Stewart without his British accent.  If it wasn't, that voice actor could probably do a hell of a good Patrick Stewart impersonation.

//Was it me or did it feel like Arkham Origins farked with the combat system? Went from average of 50+ combos in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City to barely being able to counter in AO.
///Plus the story wasn't very good.

Origins was unimpressive... it was a less compelling version of City.  This looks interesting, but it'd be nice to see some gameplay.  I hope they innovate a bit...  one good thing Assassins Creed does is bring new stuff in, and get rid of old stuff on a regular basis.

Yeah, the combat in AO sucked.  In AC, I'd hit 30+ or 50+ combos against large groups.  I was used to using the Cape Stun for crowd-control, to create openings.  In AO, Cape Stun would hit ONE guy, leaving the other thugs, to hit me and break the combo.

Glad I'm not the only one. In AC, if you were in the middle of a counter animation, it would cancel out any incoming attacks (as long as they happened AFTER I countered a single attack, I know if you have multiple enemies attacking at the same time, you have to hit counter for each attack.) But in AO, I would see a single attack, counter it and a different enemy would attack in the middle of the animation and fark up my combo. Just annoyed the crap out of me.

Actually the story ended up pretty good. Combat was pretty much the same, but the enmities were more varied.

It was kind of short, though.

You are correct, and this made Origins a huge disappointment. Asylum and City had smooth, consistent, damn near perfect combat that made you feel like the goddamn Batman. Origin messed with the timing, messed with the consistency, messed with the enemy behavior (e.g. I had enemies follow across half a fight, so I'd throw up a block on their expected strike and instead of striking they'd just stand there; freeflow broken), messed with the ability to target and hit particular enemies (sometimes it felt like Batman would attempt to strike every enemy except the one I was aiming for), and so on. Sometimes it felt deliberate and artificial; a crappy way of making combat more difficult. Instead of improving enemy capabilities, they farked with Batman's ability to fight.

The smooth freeflow combat is the best part of the Arkham games. Origins screwed with that, and that made it a bad, frustrating, not very fun game.

I know that wasn't Rocksteady making that game, so I shouldn't assign guilt by association, but it has pretty much guaranteed that I won't be pre-ordering Arkham Knight or buying it until it's confirmed that combat is back to what it should be. I don't mind new moves, features, and gadgets to combat, but only if it doesn't break the ability to fight smoothly and with the complete badassery of Batman.

IMNSHO.

Happy to see Rocksteady back making the new one. Loved the first two, definitely the best brawler games I've ever played ever, arcade, console, PC, or otherwise. I passed on Origins because of the different developer.

Where did you read that? I've read a few articles that said it was one year after AC and Kevin was voicing again. Plus they all said this is the last one. Genuinely curious.

Looking at the IMDB page again, there was a bit of confusion on my part. Apparently, someone made a fan-film recently called Batman: Arkham Knight and various links were making it look like the two were related.  At least in my adalpated brainpan. So, sorry about the histrionics; looks like Rocksteady is going to continue the Arkham storyline and is goign to have an interesting time with the naming. I think DC will probably back the game and force the fanfilm to change it's name.

I don't know how everyone can be excited.  This is just a trailer with pre-rendered material.  What is the gameplay going to be like?  Arkham Origins was meh, so I have little hope for this next installment.

Ahh. Got concerned for a minute since I was watching the trailer, thinking " Why does Bruce and Two-Face look younger than they did in AC?"

Says you'll be driving the Batmobile and this is the finale. It'll be interesting to see how they wrap it up.

Duh, Bruce is going to fake his death then retire with Selena and move to Paris and spend his days at a café waiting to not talk to his butler who he'd fired and at no time rehired. Duh.

Nea, everyone knows that Alfred was so grief stricken that he only imagined Bruce at that table with Selena and....uh....hmmmm....ugh, the only proper ending to that trilogy was Bruce dying at the end.

/ love the trilogy regardless
