There was a marathon of Hoarders on last night.  One case was much like this, except fortunately no children were involved.  But overflowing toilets with a stream of feces/unknown liquids/urine through the house due to full septic tank.

Ack.

Spiders and their in the poor kid's hair.  He was black from dirt.  I hope they get the hugs, care and love they need.

More than 1... folks just had broken toilets.  Crap filled to the rafters, and garbage piled up to seat level around the john.  No water, no nothing... can't even brush your teeth.  Too much crazy.  Too many people like that.

I don't' have to watch Hoarders. I just go to my parents' house. And then I get paranoid I'll end up that way, and go on a cleaning kick.

Disgusting that anyone would put their kids through this crap. I've known lots of, what I'd call, less-than-stellar single parents. None of them even approached a tenth of this filth.

Me too. I cant even watch hoarders anymore it groses me out too much. LAst year my roomate got all pissy at me because I cleared all her garbage out of common areas after repeated warning of cleaning up her shiat. Some of the stuff I found at the bottom of the piles got me a shrug after she went batshait crazy about touching her stuff.

It wasn't the cops- it was the county social programs. When they couldn't get into the house due to refused entry, they went and got the cops and a warrant.

Your hopes are misplaced, as evidenced by this sentence from TFA (bolded for clarity):

A Dodge County woman is accused of child neglect after deputies removed her children from what they described as "deplorable" living conditions in a town of Burnett home.

Many (arguably most, even) jurisdictions, sadly, have no issues whatsoever placing kids back with their biological mother, no matter the circumstances. (also applies to 'biological parents' when the two are still together).

Dodge County Sheriff's Office Detective Theodore Sullivan was alerted to the situation by a Dodge County Jail inmate on Nov. 11.

thank you for being such a ray of sunshine.

house is scheduled to be condemned, so if they have no home to return the kids to for a while, all the better.

whatever.  thanks for pointing that out. of course I knew that, hence the statement I made.
