But "Conrad" isn't Reynolds' real name either. He was born Conald Reynolds, according to CNN, but didn't like that it was shortened to Connie -- typically a girl's name -- so he started going by Conrad. He picked that name in honor of Robert Conrad, a television actor from the 1960's.

Where do they find these motherf*ckers?

Conald?  Is that like a hybrid of 'Cock' and 'Ronald' or 'Donald'?

He changed his name to "Colonel" ?

This GOP obsession with chickens has gone too far.

If he doesn't like Connie, can I call him the Con-man instead?

Yeah, Connie Mack was too girly, too.

"I'm tired of people nicknaming me Connie, so I'm going to change my name to a different one that is also usually shortened to Connie!"

So now he's Col. Colonel Reynolds? And he thinks that's less ridiculous than "Connie"?

He might as well just completely go for it at this point and change it to "Big McLargehuge".

Heh - this was the fifth or so hit on a GIS for 'Conald.'  I'm not sure what I was hoping to see but this was a pleasant surprise that I thought I should share with the group.

I'd like to see what that guy could do with a set of devil sticks. He could probably entertain children while subverting some paradigms.

Yep.  He changed his extremely un-girly name to something "less girly."

He changed his name AGAIN so people would have to call him by his old rank.

This dude has issues.

This is easily a sign that he should be nowhere near a position of power. The kids at school gave him a nickname he didn't like, so now at middle-age in a way of preparing for office he is changing his name. Especially as a GOP candidate, as it can be interpreted as a sign of weakness.

You know, I work with a bunch of other retired military guys as well. None of us acts like this douchenozzle. I mean, for fark's sake, what's the bloody point? My old principal didn't go attaching Brigadier General to civilian stuff, and he was still active in the Air Force Reserve.

I've known guys name Conrad. Both usually went by 'Con' for short (and I don't see why 'Conald' would be any different). I don't recall anyone ever morphing that into 'Connie'.
Given that that became a problem for Mr. Reynolds I think he had issues beyond his actual name.

Go ahead and knock it off, I dare you...
i.ytimg.com

Where to begin... I thought REAL Republicans didn't care what those "Hollywood types" had to say.
If this was the reason he chose the name "Conrad", it speaks volumes to his personality.
You have to wonder if it's gender confusion. Does he identify with a television stereotype tough guy?
What you really have to wonder is, how big is the dildo, that takes D batteries?
And where can I get one.

From CNN:

An Arkansas congressional candidate who served in the Army for 29 years says voters know him simply as "Colonel." So when he wasn't able to run using his military title on the ballot, he decided to legally change his name.
Conrad Reynolds is now Colonel Conrad Reynolds, and his name will be listed that way on the ballot for the 2nd Congressional District GOP primary in May.

What's the point in changing your name from something that makes you sound like a girl to something that makes you sound like a tremendous douchebag?
