Like the dressing, but with a hint of boiled cabbage.

Oh sure... the woman hands over the money for the tip and gets the credit for it.  Didn't see her throwing anything in the hat.

Don't need to see the menu, thanks. I'll take a hot slice of that right there.

It looks like she plus-up's the amount from the $600-ish collected at the show to an even thousand.

/Dangit, Ellen!!!  Now I want pizza!
//Onions & extra peperoni, please.

Poor bastard, now he has to claim that tip on his wages since it's documented evidence he accepted it on national TV.

/yes, I know you're supposed to claim tips
//who does that, really
///that was probably equivalent to about 2-3 months pay

Doubt it. He said he owns the pizza store with his brother. His business just grew 20X because his pizza place was featured at the 2014 Oscars, and you can bet anybody in that town is going to be wanting to try some of that.

/that bit from Ellen just changed that dude's life

Kinda like the deli next to the Ed Sullivan Theater that was always being shown on Letterman.  You know he was raking in the bucks from all the tourists.

Well, she added $400 to the $600 in the hat. I'm sure they didn't leave 'exactly' $1,000. She has money and doesn't seem like a bad person, I'm sure she gave the $400 she acted like she gave.

It would have done the same if it was just a regular driver who brought the pizza, but would have bought the guy food for his family for 2 months. I kinda wish it had been a regular employee, if they aren't the only drivers. They still would have gotten a huge bump for the business, but some schmoe that earns $4.50/hr, or whatever the tipped wage is now, would have creamed his chinos.

As someone that used to be a pizza delivery guy, you think they would've trusted any regular driver to deliver pizza to the Oscars? Plus, what's the point of being the owner if you don't get to do cool shiat like that?

If he really was under the impression that he was just dropping the pies off to the writers? Sure...

If it was all a setup , and he knew from the beginning that he was going onstage, then you're right.
