I'm a British ex-pat.  So I like both British pancakes w/sugar and lemon and American pancakes with maple syrup.   When I was a kid we used to stop at a "Little Chef" and I used to love what might (if generous) be described as "American-style" pancakes with "maple-flavoured" syrup.  Fwiw, the same recipe we used for (British) pancakes can be made into Yorkshire pudding too.

Lemon and powdered sugar on a Dutch Baby? I'll take that over bacon and eggs almost half the time.
