Drunk driving is so prevalent in rural areas because the damn cab service stops running at 7pm

FTA:Law enforcement officials frown on those who drive after copious quaffing.

That's some quality reporting there all right.

Everybody knows that if you drive fast enough the alcohol molecules are pushed to the back of your brain and you're OK to drive.

Reminded me of the time my ex-wife and I had a little tiff, so I left and drove to a convenience store and grabbed a couple of beers.  Then drove to a construction site and parked in the shadows to sip and sulk, and cool down.

Somewhere in the middle of the second can, I decided it was time to go back home.  So I cranked the car and turned on the lights, and then so did a police cruiser that had also been parked in the shadows, about 50 yards away.  Ever have one of those moments when your blood not only chills, but momentarily freezes in your veins?

He pulled out behind me onto the road, and when I turned down my street, he kept going straight.  Ever have one of those moments when you exclaimed, "There really is a God?"

You know what Stuart?  I like you.  You're not like the other people here in the trailer park.

Where he was at isnt rural. Cabs run in Stuart until 3 am at least. Also he left his house after drinking, its not like he was trying to make it home.

Drive it off, then walk it off, or just sleep it off.
