There has to be a market for selling these to people that would never set foot in Walmart. Buy them buy the thousands, put them on eBay with a decent markup, profit.

I used to like Pringles when I was a kid.  Bought a can at some point in my thirties.  They tasted like puke.  How our tastes change.

C(?)SB:
I was shocked (and slightly disappointed) to discover that there is no salt in Bacon Salt, *and* - NO BACON! It's actually kosher, in fact.

I love dousing my eggs with it as they're cooking, though. Yum.

Pringles suck.  Bacon-flavored or no, why would i want to eat reconstituted instant mashed potatoes that have been baked into the a chip shape?

If you actually want bacon Pringles and you can't break your Walmart boycott long enough to step inside and buy a tube of them, you shouldn't get to have them.

Is this where we're all gathering to castigate Walmart for their unconscionable business practices using our electronic devices that were assembled in factories where the conditions are so horrific that the employees throw themselves off of the roof.

Grr, Walmart.

True, but so do scraps of old animal skins that have been fermented in tank cars on abandoned railway sidings.

Nah, I think bacon trumps Wal*Mart this time.  Sorry to disappoint you.

As if Wal-Mart has the ability to actually get the Pringles out of the backroom and onto the shelves.

Pants full of macaroni!!: I used to like Pringles when I was a kid.  Bought a can at some point in my thirties.  They tasted like puke.  How our tastes change.

The Pringles of today probably aren't the same as those of when you were a kid. The inventor of Cheez-Whiz famously threw a fit when he tried some of his product after not having any for years. Said it bore absolutely no resemblance to what his team had created. And he was right, Kraft had cheapened the ingredients so much over the years that it wasn't the same product anymore.

Odd Pringles fact: they're insanely expensive in Brazil... like $6 a can expensive. People smuggle them in from Paraguay where they're still expensive but not as insanely as much as in Brazil. It was funny to see them sold next to ipods and xboxes like they were luxury goods. The price is pretty high in Argentina too but they're still sold widely.

I never liked Pringles. They always seemed to have a chemical aftertaste to them.

That would probably be from the chemicals.

Exclusive to Wal-Mart? I didn't know Pringles were made in China.

I only like barbeque flavored Pringles.

Damn.

Now I want barbeque flavored Pringles.

I have been enjoying the recent trend of pringles offering one off chip flavors.  There is a recent salsa one that was good and I did enjoy the habinjero.

All chips are packaged and sold by weight.  If you're buying any food (and I use that term loosely in regards to Pringles) primarily because it stacks neatly in a container, I feel sorry for you.

Why are Americans such prissy little sissies when it comes to chip/crisp flavors? Really? WHY ARE MY FELLOW COUNTRYMEN SUCH SISSIES?

Good lord, I've had to order Taytos from overseas to get some different flavors. Glad to see the American market is finally starting to catch up to the rest of the world.

As for the sissies who are upset over bacon flavored crisps, go back to clutching the hems of your nighties and weeping into your bags of unflavored plain Lays.

Tried some of these this weekend when a friend dropped by... and was unimpressed.  They taste like bacon bits mixed with flour.  I'll stick to real bacon.

That's cute and adorable when they do it.

Got news for you... real bacon is hardly more than bacon flavored product, as well.    Have you ever seen footage from a processing plant?   yikes.     The color, the smell, the taste....all artificial.

Give it time. Back in the 80s in much of the country you had three choices: plain, bbq, or sour cream & onion. And if you were lucky, there were Ruffles so you could get a bit of texture variety. I loved going to Detroit in the summer because they had dozens of flavors of chips (and Faygo made dozens of flavors of pop). Most places though, choice was very limited.

A couple months ago I saw some Pecan Pie Pringles on the half off rack.  So I got one.  Ewww.  Nothing wrong with the taste, tasted exactly like pecan pie.  Nothing wrong with the mouthfeel, felt just like a potato chip.

But the two combined just set off the "eeek" center of my brain for some reason.
