What's interesting to me is that there are actual prescription weight loss medicines. Why are people bothering with the bullshiat herbal crap?

Do you have any idea how hard it is to get 'good' meth outside of Kentucky?

Because those weight loss medicines can't combat the extreme caloric intake/lack of movement that these fat farks live by. Something MUST be wrong with the medicine, not the fact that they continue to eat thousands of calories a day while sitting on their enormous asses biatching about people who are actually in shape.

I thought it was standard practice for weight loss companies to do this. Find a picture of a woman who is normally healthy but is fat and flabby, e.g. 6 months after giving birth, and another after she hits the gym and pretend the product was the reason for this.

I had a law professor tell me that hydroxycut used to go find pregnant or injured athletes. For example, Hire a long distance runner after recovering from knee surgery and watch the pounds melt away as he goes back to training for a marathon.

That isn't a before/after kind of deal. It is an after/before stable relationship comparison.

I don't know, I still think it's legit.  I mean, the pills were featured on Dr. Oz and everything.

I am trying a new one... gambina something or other. for a month. Also will be doing a 10K end of March (Ukrop's 10K for those in RVA) It was 20 bucks on Amazon so we will see. I am hoping for a helping hand, rather than a miracle cure.

I don't recall where I heard this, but aside from the photoshops, it's the most likely explanation I've heard.  They take some fit person who has a broken leg/back injury and they bulk up while out of commission.  Take a photo then get back to their normal diet/routine and return to their normal weight.

The only improbable part of that explanation is how do the injured athlete and weight loss drug companies find each other without letting the cat out of the bag.

You are assuming that the athletes are 1) ethical, 2) inclined to pay attention to any of the adverts and 3) not willing to do everything to make a few free bucks.

Besides, even if you broadcast it on all the major news networks, it would not matter because FAT PEOPLE WANT TO BELIEVE!!

2014-03-04 10:17:44 AM
I have a couple actress friends in LA that have done weight loss adverts before. (Not the stupid photo ones, but the higher budget TV ones that feature Afters talking about such & such treatment melting the fat away.) One of the things these companies do is recruit dozens/hundreds of struggling actors, take before pictures and have them come back 2/3 months later for after evaluations with the promise of a paying gig if they make the cut for the 5 Afters in the commercial. They didn't even have to use the product they were shilling.

FTFY

If penis enlargement worked, the market would evaporate because guys would only need it once.

Those ads are everywhere because people keep buying the stuff.

I always thought a clever way to do this would be to get people who were already fitness folks and pay them to gain 50 pounds. Then swap the before and after pictures.

This guy gained and lost 70lbs in a year. I was going to say "just to prove it" but I think it was mainly to attract attention to his book.

The point is that he made the transformation both directions.
