Silly subby, LeBron wasn't being a ball hog he was just being a good sport and not running up the score by passing to Mario Chalmers.

Mario Chalmers once scored 60 points in the first half, then racked up 60 assists in the second half.

Study it out.

I was loving this till he took those last two stupid threes trying to get 60 when he could have went in the post or drove and got fould and preserved his shooting percentage, he dropped form 70 to 67 percent because of it, just a weak showing

He's a bum. He'll never amount to anything since he left Cleveland. And the way he left! He acted like he was under no contractual obligation to Cleveland at all, it's ridiculous! He was born there!! Well not there, but nearby. Pretty close by, within driving distance. So he has to stay there forever, obviously.

Anyway takes a lot of nerve to appear on TV to do something he was completely permitted to do.
The Cavs will probably win a title before he wins a few more. They're better off without him anyway, what does he do that they don't already have besides score pass and play defense? He probably wouldn't even make the rotation in Cleveland.

And he definitely couldn't have played back in the REAL NBA. The one where unathletic white guys tried to assault you if you drove the lane, that was real bball action. And even though he is quicker, faster, stronger, and more athletic then anyone from any past era, I doubt he would even start in the 80s or 90s. If he played Jordan one on one Jordan wins 2783-1, the 1 point being a foul shot James made after he flopped. Jordan has the will of the warrior, James will never be a winner. Except those times he won, but those don't count because he has other good players on his team. Jordan won every game singlehandedly, he would never stoop so low as playing with other good players like James.

He made a huge mistake leaving Cleveland for Miami. He could be playing with Anthony Bennett AND Dion Waiters right now! He's a fool and if ESPN wasn't so in love with him for totally not ratings reasons, you'd have never heard of the guy.

I also heard he's really arrogant! It's hard to believe I know, a professional athlete being arrogant. But this guy...I mean just because you're the best in the world do you have to be so obvious about it? Why can't he pretend he isn't good so people who suck can feel better about themselves? The way he flaunts his talents by being the best player, just sickening. Scoring all those points...

Easiest way to defend him is to say "I'm gonna kick LeBron in the dick" and then do it. After 2 weeks of teams doing this almost nightly he'll quit playing. Cup or not, a nut shot can still hurt like hell.

Chalmers has been absolutely ridiculous this year.  If you look at the shot selection splits, he's the only player in the league who shoots over fifty percent when he's three to five miles from the basket.  How the hell do you guard a guy when he's raining three-pointers through the arena roof?

If Lebron wins it this year its a joke.  KD has been WAY more consistent.  Lebron only plays hard when he wants something.  If the award is actually for the "most valuable player" then KD wins going away since they had such a phenomenal run once Westbrook was out.  That was pretty much entirely on KD.

I still think Durant has it right now, but it's not a runaway and I wouldn't be surprised if Lebron ends up winning it again, especially if they end up with the best record in the NBA (I know the east is super weak compared to the west, but they still have to beat out Indiana).

I think we can all agree that there's still a lot of NBA basketball left to play. Also, something people often forget to properly weight is that LeBron is still a much better defender. To me it's still really close. I'll be interested to see what guys like Kirk Goldsberry have to say at season's end.

Lebron is  clearly the better player.  Most likely this year they'll give it to Durant, like the various years Jordan got passed up to give it to the next best player because we're tired of Jordan winning MVP every year.

I don't know if that's true. Durant is scoring 4 more points per game, actually out-rebounding Lebron a little and is close in assists. He's also got his team in 1st in the much harder west with a weaker supporting cast than Lebron, given how much time Westbrook has missed. Lebron's a much more efficient scorer (58% vs. 48% from the floor, same 3 point %), and arguably a better defender. I think it'd be totally reasonable to give it to Durant, given that their stats are comparable and Durant probably means more to his team. Without him, the Thunder are nowhere in the west, while without Lebron the heat are probably still a high playoff team in the east

I actually agree that Lebron is the better player, but the award isnt for who is the best player, its for who played the best this entire year.  Lebron and the Heat coasted the first half of the season, which is fine, but that should weigh heavily on the voting imo.

2014-03-04 01:00:19 PM

neon_god: arguably a better defender

It isn't arguable. LeBron is noticeably a better defender that can defend more positions.
You could say that Durant is a better scorer, but LeBron is more efficient. They are equal in rebounding (partly because LeBron isn't trying as hard). LeBron is a better passer.

It is very close. But, I doubt you can find anyone at all that will realistically make a case that Durant is an overall better player than LeBron. It's just not happening.

neon_god: while without Lebron the heat are probably still a high playoff team in the east

The east being goddamn awful is silly. But, Wade has missed more than a dozen games. Yes, Durant went insane with Westbrook out which rightfully skyrocketed his MVP stock.

Take LeBron off the court and you're left with a starting lineup of Wade (two out of every 3 games), Bosh, Chalmers, Battier, and....Oden/Birdman? Seriously? That's a high playoff team?

Ok, it can weigh heavily. They coasted so much in the first half of the season that their record was nearly identical to the last couple years through February. They coasted so much that their record is comparable to the Thunder (with the Thunder getting bonus points for the tougher west).

I mean, if the Heat finish with the overall #1 seed then are we going to punish LeBron for coasting through January?
