I can't think of a better way to ensure widespread distribution of the mugshot photo.

Mr. Stockman, can I introduce you to Ms. Streisand?

2014-03-03 05:35:14 PM
I don't think he thought his cunning plan all the way through.

2014-03-03 05:36:15 PM
He should get a celebrity to help him bury this pernicious story. Someone with broad appeal, like Streisand.

/I know, I know, they prefer to be called dames

2014-03-03 05:36:33 PM
now that's the kind of personal responsibility that all Republicans can appreciate.

Once again another quality greenlit headline unmarred by proofreading.

2014-03-03 05:37:09 PM
He seems all stressed out about it.

I wonder if he can get his hands on some Valium....

Did he ever answer the question as to what happened to those pills back in the 1970s?

Just asking a question.

This is the guy who wants to take Cornyn's seat? LOLLERSKATES. Sounds like this is the first mouthful as the Republicans start eating themselves. Stay classy, Cornyn's anoynmous SuperPAC that can't be traced back to his campaign because of several shell companies and proxies.

So he wasn't convicted.
Neither was I.
But he was still arrested.
So was I.
I always disclose my arrest, Mr. Stockman.
And this is why

As I understand it, under Michigan's compiled laws, making an arrest record nonpublic simply makes the record exempt from the state's Freedom of Information laws, so that the state cannot release that records pursuant to a request.

It says absolutely zip, as far as I know, about anyone else disclosing his arrest record.

2014-03-03 05:45:11 PM
Maybe he ought to, you know, propose a bill that old shiat like this gets taken down eventually?

2014-03-03 05:46:47 PM
I'm sure that if he wins, he'll be fast-tracked onto a committee responsible for Internet regulation.

Let it be noted that I'm not stating anything beyond a personal opinion and not a legal opinion.

"Yet a man named Stephen Ernest Stockman with the same birthday as Stockman was arrested in Michigan in 1977 and initially charged with felony possession of diazepam, also known as Valium, records show. What's more, Stockman spoke openly about such an incident during his first term in Congress in the mid-1990s."

Well, now, I'm just not sure what to make of all these strange coincidences.

I hate TX politics.   Who gives a fark if he was arrested in 36 years ago for a (dismissed) possession charge?  If that weighs in your decision as to how you vote then you fail as a voter.

If you vote for any of these GOP or Teabagger dickholes anyway then you fail as a human being.

2014-03-03 05:51:20 PM
I could give two shiats if the guy was busted for having Valium 40 years ago.

His outraged reaction to this is far more enlightening about his character, however.

It also says something about his grasp of the American political and legal system, if he actually thinks doing this

is illegal and/or can even be stopped.

The Streisand Effect is on a 3 day roll on Fark.

2014-03-03 05:59:01 PM

So, it sounds like he's not denying that he was arrested and charged with felony possession of Valium, but the charges were dismissed and expunged? And that thus, both of these pictures:

a1.img.talkingpointsmemo.com

show the same, innocent man?

OK. The press can have fun asking him about whether he thinks drug prosecutions are too lenient, too harsh, or about right; and asking him about whether he rejects the existence of rights such as "innocence until proven guilty in a court of law" that are non-enumerated in the Bill Of Rights.

Jeezus, just own it. Not that he would win anyway, but it definitely shows how clueless and out of touch he is.

The man had the nerve to support increasing penalties and mandatory minimum sentences for drug traffickers, and the death penalty for international ones. That man is a real class act.

I will be so glad when tomorrow is over. The radio and TV stations around here have been nothing but commercials stating "X is a true Conservative, unlike his opponent Y" and of course they all promise to "fight Obama's liberal agenda", even the guy running for dogcatcher.

rather than being an adult and admitting that as a youth he made a mistake that many others have done.  That perhaps the drug enforcement laws in this nation are too strict and that if he had not had access to the resources he did his life story might be very different.  But no, he acts like a fat asshole.   fark this guy and his human failings.
