Hell, he'll be qualified to officiate the game soon.

He's deliberately going blind so he can see the Celtics?  Talk about milking the system.

To have loved and lost? Or to have never loved at all?

/yes Subby, that was in reply to your suggestion

His brothers are right. You can always listen to a basketball game, you can't braille a stripper.

he's better off going blind first

/let him sit in on the draft lottery

Why is everyone so down on the sweet ballet that is tanking?

Though it may seem like a coincidence of extraordinary odds that three young brothers would be stricken with retinitis pigmentosa, it really isn't. Though rare, the disease is hereditary.

You'd think mom and dad would stop breeding before they subjected a third kid to that.

Yeah, but a lot of the places that let you "braille a stripper" don't have the cleanest ones to begin with. Try explaining herpes fingers to your SO.

He wants to see the fourth worst team in the league? Even I didn't go see them in their 15 year slump between the end of the Bird era and the "big-three" era and I consider myself a C's fan. Could be a decade before they're competitive again.

In my list of "Things I Want To See Before I Lose My Vision", a bunch of sweaty, ugly basketball players isn't  anywhere  to be found.

I'll have to go with  subbyon this one. Live, in-person, well-built female nudity would be in the top three. No icky strip clubs, though. No skanky strippers or hookers. If I were this kid, I'd be asking to see someone truly amazing; Play the sympathy angle and get some celebrity to take me into a room and show me her stuff. I'm thinking Scarlet Johansson or Emma Stone would be willing to provide this humane service. I know Drew Barrymore would have done it when she was younger (she may now, too). If all else fails, I'm positive Miley Cyrus would do it. That's a far cry from Scarlet, but it's better than going blind and never seeing any female nudity your entire life.

I'd also add a nighttime sky in the middle of the ocean or boondocks, far from the light pollution of cities. If you've never seen a truly dark night sky, you've missed out on most of the stars we can see on this planet. The sky in the city, small towns, or anywhere near such places is  nothing  compared to what it looks like when you're out in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but the stars and moon providing light.

Not to mention that if they know you're blind they may be sticking the ugliest, nastiest of their strippers in your corner and leaving the eye-pleasing ones to the sighted patrons.

Told my dad I would quit at the point when I only needed glasses.

A little kid not only will go blind but fully aware that it's coming. Tell me again how prayer works and how great God is.

Watch out. Boston children's hospital may diagnose it as psychological and not physical and send child protective services for your kid.

I'm sure the suggestion was to see the Celtics play a pickup game against a bunch of strippers.

seeing them play naked would give the kid "a good reason" to not want to see again.

/and why not a crowd of strippers at the game?

I'd watch that...as long as a win doesn't count toward their record.

One of the Sunday night news mag shows had an in depth story about the Westgate Mall shootings in Nairobi, Kenya. Toward the end the father, whose family 5 kids + wife, were trapped in the mall was featured. He mentioned repeatedly that he prayed and prayed to his lord and savior Jesus to save his family.
The wife and 3 girls were rescued by a Muslim man. They joyously re-united weeks after this tragedy. But the critical question was not asked. Is that Muslim man still going to hell?

As long as the Celtics are the "shirts" team.

I am not quite sure what it is that I want done to parents who pass hereditary diseases on to their kids but I assure you that it is not pleasant.
