Hmmm, I thought we invaded Iraq cause of all those WMD's Ol Sadam had...

Oh, thats right, when they turned out not to exist it turned into "Liberating the downtrodden people of Iraq"

Guy sounds like one Fox News BS point after another.

How many posts down until he mentions the words "coming insurrection" or "coming revolution?"  That sort of idea pops up WAAAAY too much on any veteran-frequented site I visit.

It is a source of favor among the far-right types.  Their writing leaves little in the way of red-flags and logical fallacies left for use after a bit of reading.

Republicans should really be proud of the brand loyalty they have been able to cultivate. Their actions literally severely crippled this guy but he can't come to blame them.

Fark this guy. He reminds me of that coward that refused to deploy because Obama was not an American, ergo was not the President, and his orders were illegal.

Sorry, but I have no sympathy for this idiot.

As a combat vet myself, I say- fark this guy. He's an ignorant asshole who, while I honor his service and sacrifice, is wrong about the war, about our ability to have accomplished what he seems to think should have been done, and about pretty much everything else.

Being a veteran doesn't give you a pass, dick. You might be a hero, but you're also an ignorant ass.

2014-03-03 10:31:09 AM
Wait, this guy has no clue when or why we left Iraq... and yet he spend 3 paragraphs blaming Obama for making it a 2012 campaign issue?

FTA: I nearly died in a war that most of your colleagues supported overwhelmingly, including the two presidents who came before you.

I have never, in my life, heard of President Clinton or Obama supporting the war, even during the rah-rah Shock & Awe days of 2003.  And really?  Bush "supported" the war?  He made the farking decision to invade!

FTA: While I was in Iraq, our mission was to liberate the Iraqi citizens from a tyrant and that's what we did. Never forget, it was your people who sent us there, like the Clintons, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi & Carl Levin.

Sen. Carl Levin and Rep. Nancy Pelosi were arguably the two loudest critics of a full-scale of Iraq.  Sen. Levin even proposed a bill that would have told President Bush to go back to the international community for another attempt at diplomacy.

You literally could have picked two random members of Congress out of a hat, and came up with a less wrong answer.

I know Sen. Hillary Clinton voted to invade Iraq, but I don't know who this other Clinton is, who voted for the authorization of force.

FTA:  "Look at Iraq now, they are in shambles and the Al Qaeda flag is flying freely. Clearly, you're unfit for duty as a Commander in Chief."

The U.S.-Iraq Status of Forces Agreement outlining that all U.S. combat troops would be out of Iraq on December 31st, 2011, was signed by the Bush administration in 2008.  Obama was inaugurated as President in January 2009.  The last U.S. combat troops left Iraq December 15th, 2011.  I'm not sure what exactly you expected to happen in the extra 16 days President Bush originally agreed to.

One of the monitors at the gym has Fox News with closed caption turned on.  While I'm watching quality infomercials I can see what is be said on Fox.  No matter what the news item is some how it is Obama's fault.  Rain in California but Obama has done nothing to address the drought.  It isn't even a meme its more of just a reflex suffix added to everything.

Next week, we'll be back to praising Bush for negotiating our troops leaving Iraq.

And yeah, the 9/11 angle and a few other things made the whole letter seem fake.

My favorite part was the comment "Eloquent letter.". because it's the complete opposite of eloquent. It's word salad and doesn't easily convey any coherent thought at all.

No wonder the Teabaggers understand it.

It is all about raising money.  If the rubes will still send dollars so Obama won't change the Constitution to let himself run again then they'll keep demonizing him.  Once Ma and Pa figure out he is going away well get Hillary and Biden ghost stories.

President Clinton did not support it, but he came close. Basically Bush should have let the weapons inspectors do their jobs before taking any military action. But a derper like this vet could easily misread his comments.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/06/19/clinton.iraq/

"I have repeatedly defended President Bush against the left on Iraq, even though I think he should have waited until the U.N. inspections were over," Clinton said in a Time magazine interview that will hit newsstands Monday, a day before the publication of his book "My Life."

"That's why I supported the Iraq thing. There was a lot of stuff unaccounted for," Clinton said in reference to Iraq and the fact that U.N. weapons inspectors left the country in 1998.

"So I thought the president had an absolute responsibility to go to the U.N. and say, 'Look, guys, after 9/11, you have got to demand that Saddam Hussein lets us finish the inspection process.' You couldn't responsibly ignore [the possibility that] a tyrant had these stocks," Clinton said.

Pressed on whether the Iraq war was worth the cost to the United States, Clinton said he would not have undertaken the war until after U.N. chief weapons inspector Hans Blix "finished his job."

I can barely understand the whole class warfare thing at the beginning.

I wasn't around back then, but I'm pretty sure growing up in the 1960s as a mixed-race kid with an Islamic name, to a flaky divorcée who was either dragging you around the globe to third-world countries, or dumping you off with your grandparents, wasn't as rosy as this dude seems to think.

Subby never said the author blamed Obama. He said the author blamed Pelosi, Clinton and Carl Levin.

But this guy seems to really have a problem with Obama's success. Dude needs to lighten up because his jealousy is really showing.

By the way, anybody here from Honolulu? I just want to know how bad this neighborhood, that he claims as one of the worst in Honolulu, is that he went to high school at. In my experience, when a white person claims the neighborhood they lived in, or went to high school in, was one of the worst, it is usually the case that it was a very nice neighborhood compared to some of the real bad areas or even less than desirable but not horrible areas.

FTA: "I'm not placing blame on you for the war, I'm placing blame on you for destroying what we've worked so hard to build. "

He's not blaming him for starting the war, he's angry that he's ending it which I can actually understand soldiers who got maimed in war being upset about. They were deluded into thinking they were there for a purpose and they needed to win the war, that was the only way they could justify all the deaths and injuries on both sides, and when Obama pulled out without accomplishing the fantasy goal they had told themselves they were pursuing, it must have been horrible realizing all that was for nothing.

I respect this gentleman's service and wish him all the best in his recovery and I hope he gets all the love and support that a wounded warrior can get, but he is a hateful, misguided idiot. His letter was a rambling, incoherent piece of poo with as much intelligence as the drool in the corner of the mouth of that banjo kid from deliverance.
