Watch Fast Food Nation... they used the lowest grade form of "meat" available.

Is Moe's any less Mexican than Chipotle?  Because they've had tofu at every restaurant of theirs I've been to, even in deep-red Dixie.

Note this question is not intended to diminish the lulz from subby's headline.

Is the correct pronunciation of "Chipotle" really that much of a mystery? I can pronounce it correctly, and I'm about as white as it gets.

I should have probably have tossed in a satire indicator on my post, but I live in Florida, land of people-from-everywhere-else who pronounce everything several different ways:

Miami: "Mee-ami" ... "My-ami" ... "My-amuh"

And of course, Kissimmee:  http://goflorida.about.com/od/allaboutflorida/a/stories.htm

Chipotle was doomed to be pronounced correctly here, at any rate.

Good. I'm glad to have more vegetarian options at fast food places, other than "salad".

Every taqueria I've ever been to has bean burritos, cheese enchiladas, etc. It's not exactly hard to find vegetarian options with Mexican-style cuisine.

They've been selling these at my local Chipotle for a while now.  It's not bad, but it's kind of bland compared to their other offerings.  If I wanted a vegetarian alternative, I'd go for the roasted vegetables and beans that they've sold since day 1.

I like the tofu filling, but it messes with my desire for guacamole. Guac is free on my longtime standby, the veggie burrito (probably because you're not hitting them up for any other filling). But when you order sofritas, guac is now an extra charge. And a hefty one, too -- about $2 extra. So my choices are tofu but no guac, or guac but no tofu. (Or spend $2 extra, but I ain't made of money.)

Cheap Hotel.

Is this about the sofritas that showed up about 6 months ago? I've tried it a few times on a burrito split with chicken. It's not bad on its own either though.

Nearest Moe's is about 20-25 miles away.  Not really convenient for my lunchtime enjoyment.

/and Qdoba pulled out of the area a year or so ago

They actually use or used a grade that is too low to be called "meat" in Georgia.

The quality of Moe's' meat is by far the lowest of the big 3 (in my area).  The only good thing about Moe's is the queso and black olives.

Chipotle has the best meat and seems to be the freshest.

Qdoba has queso like Moes, and meat almost as good as Chipotle.

Ah...and Pancheros has the best tortillas made fresh at each order. Baja Fresh is pretty lame.

If somebody mispronounces it, it's usually Chip-ol-tee. Like Nick Nolte.

I always thought Qdoba's queso was better than Moe's, but I never got Moe's very often. Even when there was one in town, it was much further away than Qdoba or Chipotle (walk vs 5 minute drive). I will say the new Qdoba quesos are pretty choice. The Queso Diablo has some kick -- more than the hot salsa -- and the Queso verde is pretty tasty.

Yeah, but sometimes you get a little bit tired of bloody diarrhea.

I didn't realize they'd ever existed near here. Maybe that was part of their problem.

I tried it on a whim, in a half steak- half tofu burrito. It's pretty good in combination with actual meat. The seasonings in the tofu goes well with the rest of the burrito.

I'd suggest it as a little different kick on your normal meat burrito.

fark Chipotle. Not every goddamn thing needs to be swimming in cilantro.
