Fish, and plankton. And sea greens, and protein from the sea. It's all here, ready. Fresh as harvest day. Fish and sea greens, plankton and protein from the sea. And then it stopped coming. And they came instead. So I store them here. I'm ready. And you're ready. It's my job. To freeze you. Protein, plankton...

How in the heck is there not a remake of this movie yet?

The original story had carousel at age 21.  It is PERFECT for the Hunger Games dystopian YA movie crowd.

There was a remake rumored to be in the works a few years ago, and then we got In Time. It was similar to how At The Mountains Of Madness morphed in to Pacific Rim, and Robocop turned in to a steaming pile of shiat.

In the remake, flip the gender and have the role played by Jenny Agutter.

I made a Logan's Run reference the other day amid some "theater people" roughly my own age... and NONE of them got it. I was sad.
However, it does point to the fact that the property is old enough that it would seem fresh to today's audiences, and I'm surprised this one hasn't been rebooted yet.

Because no remake is necessary. Because there hasn't yet a movie made from the novel Starship Troopers. Or Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (though Blade Runner was a good movie).

Pick any other reason you like. Most are likely valid.

Probably because during Logan's Run you weren't watching the parts that are visible in a Mother Superior costume.

I think he is commenting on the VAST difference between the very good books and the very good movies. Having read both those books and they are very good, I think a movie made from either that followed the book exactly would be a steaming pile. A very dark and dreary steaming pile. Bladerunner was dark/dreary enough. Though the battle suits from Starship troopers would be freakin awesome

No Joke.

The movie had almost nothing to do with the book.  It was dressed up a little to look like it was, but it was actually another movie entirely called "bug hunt" (or something) that they converted after getting the Starship Troopers option.

A real Starship Troopers movie would have involved the baddest fighting force known to man and expose into the moral reasons that they fought.  I can only imagine (thanks Paul Verhoven!) what real cap troopers dropping on a raid would have been like.

Instead we got a cheeky silly thing that has little to do with the book outside of thumbing it's nose at something that nobody involved bothered to read.  Sort of like what nu-trek did to ST.

Disagree.  I think such a movie, properly done, would be a thought provoking look at morality, delivered in a war movie story involving our protagonist's career in the military.

I don't know if that's something Hollywood is capable of any more.

Andrew Niccol, who did Lord Of War, might pull it off. That was dark and dreary with the only hero being an unrepentant arms dealer. had no real beginning or ending Yet it still worked as a movie

I hate terrible art ideas like this. Open a foodbank.

Logans Run and National Lampoon Vacation were two of my favorite movies as a young boy. The only more formative movie for me was Heavy Metal.
