The crack spider figured that building webz was for suckas, waited til the caffeine spider was exhausted, and popped a cap in caffeine spider's ass.  Nice web, Mr. Crack Spider.

When winter came, the marijuana spider had no place to live.  It ended up in the crack spider's web, as the crack spider's biatch.

Humans building homes on drugs?
Birds building nests on drugs?
Sharks screaming "I'm a shaaaaark" on drugs?

You know? That's not a bad idea.

Bees making honey on drugs.
Dingos eating babies on drugs.
Hummingbirds flopping around after we give them heroin.

For everyone that got a wee bit outraged over this being greened (yes, it is a repeat...from March of 2002), please understand that sometimes admins, especially those that work late at night, are often in the same state of inebriation as several of the spiders.

On a related note, has anyone heard about this great Neiman Marcus cookie recipe?

Seriously?  This is like the Geek Tab equivalent of all those 'news' articles that get trotted out on an annual basis.  I swear someone should write a book about it.  Maybe something about 'Not News'.

But I guess this is what we mean by 'Real News.  Real Funny.' Huh, Drew?  I hope every single beer bought with even a penny of sponsor or ad money goes flat.

I remember seeing it in one of those big Time-Life picture books in the seventies.  Don't know when the book was published, mind you.

Actually when I looked at TFA, thinnking maybe, just maybe, someone did the experiment again, I noticed the copyright on the pic is 1982.....

It's interesting to note that the LSD and peyote webs, and to a lesser extent the marijuana web, aren't terribly malformed and would be functional.

Then there's caffeine

Oh, and TFA states the research was done in 1948

Judging by the font and image quality of this pic

Off by about 30 years. I remember seeing "spider webs from spiders we dosed with various drugs" photos in a book published in the early 1970s.

"Roger, five-niner your last transmission, Houston. Buzz has taken all the drugs meant for the spider experiment and is up on the ceiling, attempting to spin a web. Please advise."
