Shenanigans.

Headline implies that Putin isn't manly enough to hold his own vodka while he personally beats the crap out of his opponent, whomever that opponent may be.

Pooty Poot is calling the bluff of 'consequences.'  Or he feels like whatever the West does in retaliation can't be as painful as losing access to those ports would be.

Well now that the Olynpic shiat is over, Putin can go back to taking care of business.

I fully expect Obama to employ the age-old Democrat tactics of 'stern warnings' and 'hand-wringing'.

So when does Putin rip off his fake human mask and finally reveal he's Cobra Commander?

2014-03-01 10:29:06 AM
It's as though he watched how Iran basically did what they wanted with the nuke facilities and nothing was done, in spite of warnings and lines being drawn.

Hopefully Queen Elincia can track down Ike for help. If not, at least the Laguz are nearby.

Obama's weak on foreign policy. He should have nuked them yesterday.

"Who? Nuked who?"

All of them.

Even if McCain were in power, we wouldn't do shiat.

What's the color of the sky in your reality?  Purple?

My guess, if Russia only occupies Crimea, then there will be a diplomatic solution that heavily favors Russia. If Russia occupies the entirety of Ukraine, then it will be war.

Damnit, I dont get BBC. Annoying.

So, how does The Budapest Memorandum fit into the diplomacy for US and UK policy for this?  How far will we go to protect Ukraine's borders?

2014-03-01 10:32:36 AM
The Ukraine is weak. This shouldn't take long.

2014-03-01 10:32:50 AM
No no no...the prophecy says the WWIII starts when the Russians invade Iran, not Ukraine. Everything is fine.

If McCain was in office, he'd have offered the US military as back up in suppressing those silly Ukrainian poors.

Yup. And people who have no idea of the geography will point to that as proof of THINGS in US politics.

A right winger who thinks we need to intervene. A truly rare site indeed.

At least you guys love our service men and women so much you're willing to help them meet their maker sooner, unlike those damned libtards.

He needs to invade Russia. That country`s military is full of Soviet-era variants anyways. If playing the CoD and BF series has taught me anything (and it has), the M16A3 rapes the AK-74 anyday and I expect the troops to be home before Christmas.

'kay heard this last night at work almost word for word. Is this the new talking point issued by Fox or something?

I have little doubt defense contractors and even members of the GOP are supporting this! even materially.  Can't let those defense dollars get cut.

It's as though you haven't noticed how we've wrecked Iran's economy to the point where the Ayatollah and the Mullahs are willing to bargain with the Great Satan in order to avoid starvation and economic collapse.

2014-03-01 10:36:06 AM
How about they set up a deal to trade Crimea back and forth every 75 years or so?  It happens anyway, just just hand the keys over for a bit and then later it'll be your turn again.

2014-03-01 10:36:49 AM
Goddammit, being forced to watch CNN. This is horrible.

2014-03-01 10:37:24 AM
Putin is sadly mushroom stamping Obama when it comes to global presence. Obama is clueless. He has already shown his red lines are bullshiat. He's willing to let Iran toy with him. Syria is still laughing that he believed they would dismantle their weapons and stop killing rebels. Just sad.
