Reminds me of some bars in Florida when a hurricane is bearing down.

They probably have the customers shoot the rats, I'm guessing. Hope they don't have a grill or a deep fryer.

And I read that as "determined to keep steak alive"

like there's a huge elk in the barn out back they're keeping for the worst of it.

Farking pussies! Do they not appreciate that our recent rains have made the well-beaten path from my backdoor to the orange trees a muddy quagmire!? I can't hardly pick fresh oranges for breakfast without getting yelled at by the wife for tracking mud into the house. Will Missoulians not think of the Californians!?

I totally drank there when I hiked to Montana from Ohio. Seem to recall arrogant bastard on tap... But I was pretty shiatfaced by then

Our local news station was showing the 'Disaster Preparations' which appeared to be a 2 high row of sandbags around the storm drains.

I work in a space where my 'wall' that my computer faces is floor to ceiling glass looking into a 24x7 'security operations' room (it's a farking weird setup that wasn't intended to hold as many people as it does).  They typically have a CNN/Fox network on a large TV 24x7 just to monitor events to determine if they need to do anything, but also watch the weather station.

Friday was 4 hours of OMGOSCARS!!! from some Fox affiliate, then 4 hours of HOLY farkING shiat RAIN IS GOING TO COME AND DESTROY CALIFORNIA, BATTEN DOWN YOUR ASSHOLES AND LOOK AT THIS shiat from a weather channel.

I hate TV.

And the only bar in the US that has never served a black man.

I used to stop in there for lunch when I worked in downtown Missoula, if I had the time. I always liked that place.

It was submitted with the Hero tag...admins changed it for some reason.

2/10 Try harder

/have personally drank with black friends at the Ox
//Natives too.  Actually the Ox is probably one of the most integrated dive bars I've ever been in

I love places that never close. They're magical. There was a crazy convenience store/bakery/beer store/cake decorating supply shop in St. John's that never closes. I'd go there at 3 to buy cake.

Well, I guess this means the Oxford has at least one thing going for it. I'd rather be at just about any other bar in town though.

I have much appropriate heteronormative man-love for this bar.

Bars that don't close in bad weather are awesome.

Nobody said anything about March coming in like a lion. Nobody called it "Snowmaggedon" or the "Blizzard of '14." It was, they agreed, something called winter.

What`s this?

An article mentioning weather that is not overloaded with hyperbole?

Unpossible!

Montana holds the record for the coldest it's ever gotten in the CONUS. They are just thankful for every day it's not -70°.

Unless they only have one (which is unlikely), you can clean a fryer while the others are still in service. And what, do you think they're SUPPOSED to clean their grill?

/carbonization is what keeps it nonstick
//cleaning it will ruin years of hard work
