I'm sure the games will be compelling, but frankly I'm just here for Rebecca Lowe

It is your FFPL report!

img.fark.net

And hot on the heels of Round 21 we have Round 23.

Top scorer of the round was Luckless_Wonder with a MIGHTY 185. Cheeky +90 for a Toon 1-0 over AV and two other perfects. Wynswrld in second with a 130 including a +90 from CP Vs MUFC whereas HaywoodJablonski accreted his way to 110. At the other end, Princips_Sandwich bust his banker on the way to -5. Dead_for_tax_reasons did the same on his way to -10. Neither could compete with Mr_H who handed back a full -20.

Cognitive_Displaysia, Chupacabra_Sandwich, Cajnik - strike 2.

I reclaim the top spot and am the first [probationary] member of the 2000 club. Wynswrld gains significantly on nathanjr in second. Cameron_crazy1986 the lowest breather and he climbs one spot over Noblehammer16. 1000 club now extends down to Juicepats in 20th.

Cajnik retains the Banker Presidency, one of just two players with the full whack [StRalphtheLiar]. Haywood_Jablonski climbs 4. Norfolking_Chance retains the Median Trophy. Krej55, dead_for_tax_reasons and tom_servo_bit_me all drop 2.

FFPL climbed up 13 spots in the league of leagues rankings to 152nd.

Alright, match day, COYWho am I kidding. Just try to keep our already abyssmal goal differential under -40.

I'm thinking that Everton v West Ham is on my docket.  I'm up early for the second day in a row after drinking for the second night in a row.  Hopefully going 3 for 3 tonight (college).  We're supposed to get 6-10" of snow tomorrow, but if there are no delays, I'll be wearing short sleeves on Friday in California.

I got my scores in just in time since there was no early game.  Come on Everton today and Spurs tomorrow!

I made predictions for the 2nd time this year, trying to inspire FFC with my forthcoming phoenix-like rise from the ashes.

Or I'll forget again by next week and seal my fate. One or the other.

Well, this farking flu bug I caught this week is keeping me home from work today. At least I have Rebecca Lowe and some soccer to watch.

Really need 3 points here, especially since So'ton beat us at home. Need to carry some momentum into the United match. Good news is after this match, we don't have any other engagements until the 16th.

Ramires in the LeBron mask. No idea why the NBA is trying to get it banned.

What do Farkers think is the magic number of points to avoid relegation? Who is probably safe at this point?

I'm thinking that Hull and above are OK, not just because of the points gap but also because of the number of teams that would need to overtake them.

Based on long term averages, 38 points is enough to be safe. I'll post my EPL table w/ everyone's standing in relation to the long term averages after the Liverpool match. But as things stand, the top 8 are safe.

I don't know. But it was absolutely insane that something like 2 weeks ago 1 win took stoke from 18th to 11th.

What the hell was Stecklenburg doing?  And then typical Torres fail

Well, by this time of the season one team at least is usually cast adrift. Even Fulham are a three-win run away from rocketing up slots. Whether or not three wins is likely for them is of course debatable. The mean score for the 18th team over the last 20 years is apparently 39. That tide rises and lowers year on year of course. This year it could easily be higher as there is quite a lot of turnover in the bottom third.

Think Fletcher is still out so they really don't have much choice.

Dempsey really should have stayed in the EPL.

Andy Carroll is coming on for West Ham, replacing Carlton Cole after less than 30 minutes. Doesn't look injured, so a bit odd.

Rumors of Soldado going to Atletico if Diego Costa goes in the summer.

This year i would say 35 points is safe but not comfortable. To put it in perspective how two sided the league is West Ham in 10th are only ten points (32) ahead of bottom place (22). Any team from West Ham down can make themselves safe with a three game winning streak and put themsleves in the mire with a three game loosing streak.

Well, it's the obvious reply. I do call Jose "The Boring One," remember.

Eeto was one of the highest paid players in the world at one time. Torres was amazing at Liverpool. And I'm not sure what Ramirez does.

Because it's so close at the bottom, I'm gonna say 40 points is the floor this year.

Would like to listen to Chelsea's locker room during this half time.

Everton really should be on top, but haven't created enough of a threat in the box.  Closest shot went inches wide of the post.  Cole was taken off by Big Sam as a tactical decision which nobody really understands.  As it stands right now I have every single result wrong.  After Newcastle's poor run and Hulls good run I figured a Hull win at home was a strong possibility.  Not enough to banker it, but still.  Newcastle loves to crap all over my predos!
