60 minutes long songs...drink a shot of beer after each one. Album comes on a USB in a shot glass.

This confused me because until this point I had read the headline as being about Lordi.

that Lorde song is farking terrible.  I wish it wasn't.  I'd LIKE to be able to tell you that it is a great song that will stand the test of time.

but it just isn't.  it is atonal bullshiat and will be forgotten by next year.

I don't know, her voice sounds very generic, and her songs sound like what a high school kid thinks is deep. The music is just extremely bland synth. But hey, lots of people like it, so it has to be good.

I bought it and was very disappointed with it. There is honnestly only so much drum machine one can take.

It is not a bad album but it was really not worth the purchase.

/The same can be said for Bastille.

Another opinion - went to a Bruce Springsteen concert last night and he opened with a cover of that song ...

Sweet! About time someone who has a lick of talent actually sells nowadays. Her stuff sorta reminds me of Bat For Lashes a little bit; has a bit of a dreampop touch.

I heard some weird reggae-like cover on my local radio station, today. I'll try to find out who did it (nowhere to be found on the web, it didn't really sound like reggae but the guy singing did sound jamaican and it was hard to get the lyrics, weird but nice).

Other than that, I got to hear the rest of the album and, frankly, Pure Valium would have been a more suited title.

came to ask if the album is any good, as the single doesn't really do much for me.

but then a comment by CipollinaFanabout use of drum machine was all i needed to know.

why anyone would use a drum machine when you could get a drummer  is beyond me.
There's nothing more annoying than predictability, when it comes to music.

Certain people use them judiciously, but very few.
Say you're the Young Marble Giants and don't have a drummer in your band.

Platinum, 500,000 is Gold, 10 million is Diamond.

I hope you meant 60, 1 minute songs. I have a few Power Hour videos that show 1 minute clips from like Family Guy or The Office.

I was pretty shocked that the entire album was quite good, and no just the singles.  My favorite track, Glory and Gore, hasn't even been released yet.

I had heard her name, but never heard any song by her before because I just don't listen to the radio that much and to my knowledge it's never been on anything I've watched.  Anyway, looked it up.....not really impressed.

Found some interesting things on YouTube
like if a teen girl can do better than your song in her bedroom, it's probably not that great of a song (this was amusing for some reason)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYUqS65uDOk

and proof that every pop song sounds better with guitar (no matter how cheesy or how cheesy the video is)

I just listened to "Royals" for the first time.

It is a farking fantastic song. 808, 909, whatever. The lyrics are there, the 1 4 5 progression and the the beat...done deal.

Sorry you didn't write and perform it. Sorry I didn't, too.

Oh lighten the fark up.

It's a decent song, takes shots at celeb culture, has a catchy chorus. Hardly atonal.

Hebalo: Hardly atonal.

It's actually the opposite of atonal. The song strictly follows a key.

Atonal is shiat like the Pixies and Tool. And I'm not baggin' on them at all, I like dozens of songs from each of those bands.
