I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to Chipotle now. Why did they have to open a store within walking distance of my house?!

Because it's not very good?  I understand people love it and it's great to have a food option that's quick that isn't burgers or pizza but I just don't get it.  I live in Denver and on the rare occasions that I'd get a burrito I'd get one from Illegal Pete's or go to an actual Mexican restaurant.

Based on the documentary "Demolition Man" I thought that the winner of the Franchise Wars was Taco Bell?

Mucho Burrito. I know they're a chain, but man they dish out a damn good burrito.

It's worse than that; our economic destiny is in the hands of people who were voted into office by people who read Paul Krugman's column.

I like Chipotle, but just to mix things up I went to an authentic Mexican place recently and got a similar order.

It tasted alright, but took forever to prepare, cost more than it should for the portion served and I'm pretty sure I didn't order a long black hair to be interlaced within my burrito.

No explosive diarrhea though, so I shouldn't complain.

The burrito machine wouldn't be hard to make, but it would require frequent cleaning. That's why humans are still in use.

"A Burrito Stomping on a Human Face-Forever"

This is a case of the original headline being better than subby's.  It's more trollish AND a literary reference.

I don't usually post on Fark, but when I do I make it snarky...

I RTFA and when douchauthor came to the part when he haggled with the burrito-maker over, "... a little less meat please, I get enough in my mouth and buttcheeks everyday..." I was appalled. Leave her alone, order your farking diet coke and eat a dkci, you fkcu.

That wasn't an article. That was a stupid buzzfeed list.

Which insinuated that white people can't figure out how to make Mexican food.

We have a local "New Mexican" chain here. Guy I knew from New Mexico said it was terrible compared to thus other, more authentic place down the street.

It was pretty meh. And no where near as popular as chipotle, it the other chain.

Maybe "authentic" New Mexican burritos just doesn't taste very good.

Same reason you can't have a Red Lobster here in Maine. You can't throw a brick in this town without getting arrested for vandalizing at least six seafood restaurants, and they all sell hardshell.

It's weird that no matter how Mexican the Mexican restaurant I go to, there's always someone to tell me that it isn't real Mexican. I keep wondering what the cutoff point is. Is it some random ingredient?

"Yo, I went to a Mexican restaurant last night."
"It wasn't real Mexican."
"It was a carnitas stand in Mexico City."
"...Still wasn't real Mexican."

Love the ethnic food snobs almost as much as I love beer snobs.
