The PRC is probably still unhappy that Locke made their officials look bad with his trip into starbucks and carrying his own backpack rather than having an entourage member do that for him.

'Banana' has long been a derogatory slang term used by the old - school Chinese - American community for a Chinese that helps the police or other authority figure outside their own community.

Living in South Korea I heard it as an asian born and raised in the united states, canada, ect, and probably does not speak the lanuage.   A foreigner and outsider that happens to be asian.  A.B.C. (American born Chinese) would be a polite way to say that.

This is offensive, and I guess when a person sees someone they think is one of their own, they don't like suprises.  It is probably easier to just be anglo in that situation.

Perhaps those fat, lying, corrupt sacks of Chinese shiat should just STFU and go back to oppressing the ones they consider real Chinese.  Perhaps their view of real Chinese is a person who allows themselves to become enslaved by them.

It goes deeper than that. Terms like 'banana', 'coconut', and 'oreo', arose out of a sense of betrayal of 'your own people'. Many immigrant cultures in the US are very insular due to the treatment they received when first arriving in America: exploitation and police violence just because they were non-white, situations that continue to this day. Speaking from the San Francisco point of view, the Chinese that arrived to work on the railroad often relied on the criminal Tong and Triads that followed them from China  in order to get justice and protection since they couldn't depend on the police for those things. People working for the police were seen as the enemy, rather than trying to improve their community's position by changing the government from within.

Also, becasue of the European exploitation from the British Empire, the Chinese were even more disinclined to cooperate with 'white' police, or even share much of their culture with white people in general; it was a long standing tradition that non-Chinese were not to be taught any Chinese fighting styles or even the Chinese language; Bruce Lee was one of the first Chinese to break with the tradition of not teaching Chinese culture to outsiders. That scene in 'Dragon' where Lee had to fight for the right to teach outsiders actually happened, my friend's sifu was one of the judges and was inspired to go on and teach outsiders himself.

Also, liu si tells the chinamen all they need to know about Murican and European support for chinese democracy.

So, yeah, internet as a pathway to remove the party leaders?

The internet just reinforces the government's control of china.
