This is what an unchecked and unregulated coal industry does. This is what happens when automobile emissions standards are lax and unenforced. When West Virginia coal companies whine about job-killing regulations, we only need to take a glance east to see the nightmare scenario those regulations are protecting us from. Not that we shouldn't do more. Our coal industry also extracts excess profits from the lifespans of American citizens, just so as much as they do in China.
