A five-record LP vinyl set? Better stop at the automatic ATM machine on your way there.

I was there that night, so subby can suck it!

/more for the wife.
//that LCD Soundsystem dude is alright, that "New York I Love You" song kind of anthemic.

Subby, now that you've heard of them, they're a bunch of sellout posers and they're not good enough for my record collection.

Uh, why do other people have to like what I like?

With three great albums, two of them being nearly perfect and one of them (so far) universally shortlisted for "best of the decade" honors and a tactfully short run I think it's safe to say that James and Co. were better than subby's favorite band.

I hate to break it to you, Hoopy, but LP vinyl set doesn't qualify for a redundancy ATM machine snark comment.

Actually, with today's technology it is possible to build a real ATM machine:

I hate to break it to you, Pokey, but LPs are vinyl and so are five-record sets. If they were CDs, it would be a five-disc set or box and they wouldn't be LPs.

I'll have to set them up, kid.

I think the point Pokey is trying to make is that LP stands for Long Play so it doesn't fit in the word redundancy snark that automatic ATM machine would.

releasing a 5 record box set in 2014 is just the epitome of stupid.

sorry.  it is.  guaranteed, the vinyl is sourced from digital originals, defeating the purpose.
vinyl needs to die again.  it should never have returned, even in limited fashion.  your vinyl collection at this point should come from old LP's scored at thrift stores and yard sales.

LP has ONLY ever been used to refer to vinyl. therefore, it comes back to a redundancy issue. maybe not the same as saying "machine" after atm, since "m" stands for "machine", but still redundant.

OK.  This is one of the silliest arguments I've - wait - Fark.com.  Sorry.  LP vinyl set is the exact same redundancy as automatic ATM machine.  You guys win.

Yes, Fark is being far more stupid than usual this morning. One example is an acronym surrounded by the words it stands for. The other is an acronym surrounded by words that mean the same, but are NOT the words it stands for.

How farking dense are people to not see the difference?

James was offered a job writing for Seinfeld, so it's safe to assume he hates hipsters.

i can't tell if you're serious and agreeing with genepool lifeboat, or if you're being condescending and agreeing with the hired working employees on the payroll of the department of redundant automatic atm machines and lp vinyl record albums department
