I generally have : a 'good' cereal - generally Wheaties - brown sugar is the best on them;  a chocolate kind of cereal - tend to alternate between Cocoa Puffs and Cocoa Krispies ; and then another sugar packed thing like the good Cap'n, - crunchberries of course - Lucy Charms, and oddly, Rice Krispies Treats. And if a display of Quisp shows up somewhere, about three boxes please!

My Colon Blow.

It was on the Deadspin list referenced in TFA, albeit at a very low ranking.

Kashi is the cereal version of fiber one bars. Tastes pretty good, but god help whoever has to share a closed space with you.

Anyway, Ohs is the way to go.

PunkTiger: EngineerAU: List is useless without Lice Krispies, Ape Nuts, and Bloody Bunches of Goats.

I prefer "Donkey Punches of Oats."

I save that one for date night.

Many of you are seriously disturbed and misguided.

REESE's PUFFS!!!

Triumph: What kind of lunatic lists that Reese's Puffs garbage and not Peanut Butter Captain Crunch?

Whoa, whoa, wat?  that's a thing?  I need to find these!

Raisin bran crunch blows away regular raisin bran. Bonus is it's usually on sale, 2 boxes w/30% more for under 5 bucks.

2014-02-27 10:16:41 PM
How neither list included Apple Cinnamon Cheerios is entirely beyond me. Maybe not my favorite but it's easily top 5 and probably top 3.

How can anyone post a list of cereal on the internet and not have this as their number one choice? My jimmies have officially been rustled.

Oh man I forgot about Gorilla Munch. When I was in college my then-girlfriend was a celiac and had it all the time. You're right, it's awesome.

Kids, if a wizard offers you his peme globs, find an adult.

Nobody said Apple Jacks? Or Cocoa Krispies? Or Count Chocula? You are all cereal mongoloids!

Raisin Bran is #30? This is an outrage.  I guess people don't realize you can add extra sugar to them.

Fruit Loops were pretty good too. At least they got some respect at #9.

oukewldave: hundreddollarman: I'm sorry but Cinnamon Toast Crunch is farking disgusting. And Corn Pops are overrated. You leave them in milk for more than 2 minutes and they're this slimy squishy mess.

/Rice Krispies for life.

And rice krispies isnt a mess?  Lol.  Cinnamon toast crunch you have to use less milk, or eat a corner of the bowl and tilt the milk into there.

Do people really buy the name brand stuff?  The off brand stuff is just as good, and half the price.

No way! I go to coupons.com and bettycrocker.com as well as other sites and print out as many coupons as I can get. When you find the sales, you can get boxes of name brand cereal for less than a dollar.Last week I acquired alot of Krave for $.50 a box.The week before I got Cinnamon Toast and Chocolate Toast Crunch for $.60 a box.

Kix
Crunchy Corn Bran
Rice Krispies

1) Golden Grahams
2) Cinnamon Toast Crunch
3) Multi-Grain Cheerios
..
...
838483248238) Corn pops
838483248239) Krave

Corn pops and Krave are quite possibly the worst 'foods' known to mankind.  I'd rather eat the box they come in.

Captain Crunch used to tear up the roof my my mouth.  Eating the cereal, I mean.  You perverts.

Peanut Butter Captain Crunch and Crunchberry were both great.

sniderman: If you don't mind buying non-brand name cereals at places like Aldi's or Save-a-Lot, Captain Chocos is the best damn cereal I've ever had. And this is from a die-hard Coco Puffs fan.

/plus, he kinda looks like The Tick

That list is pretty much upside down.
I'm a cheap old sombiatch and I shop at Aldi as well. Good stuff!

With the exception of oatmeal, their brands of raisin bran and non-sweetened spoon sized shredded wheat are the only cereals in my cupboard at the moment. I usually put some honey and milk on the shredded wheat and only milk with the raisin bran. You can make some dadgum yummy muffins with that raisin bran too.

2014-02-27 10:48:33 PM

metaskie: Honey Comb is not at the top of either of these lists, so fark both these writers with a rusty jackhammer.

I helped take care of my grandmother the last couple of years of her life.  When I made her breakfast, she would have me mix Honeycomb and Great Grains together in the bowl.  It was actually pretty good.

/Nona loved her some Honeycomb.

Shredd--

Are you 70 or something?

Early 30's and Shredded wheat (bite size) has been my go to for a few years now.

This guy fails at ranking cereal if Capn Crunch is at 26.
Nerds cereal is still the greatest of all time.

Cheerios are baby food.

Berry Berry Kix is vastly superior to regular Kix, but difficult to find.

Cocoa Krispies wins over plain Rice Krispies.

Korean Oreo cereal is at least $0.99 better than Krusty O's according to my research.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=KRUSTY+O%27S&_osacat=0&_from=R4 0& _trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.XCEREAL&_nkw=CEREAL&_sacat =0

And French Toast Crunch is right up there thanks to increased sales in Washington and Colorado of the last year.

elysive: Captain Crunch (lost weight on a Capt Crunch diet before, yum!)

Is that because a hearty breakfast with a bowl of glass shards in milk soon drilled a giant festering cave-hole through your upper palate so deep that when you shine a light in your nose it reflects on your tongue rendering dieters unable to eat even pudding without choking and that's why the Cap'n Crunch diet guarantees loss of pounds and inches?

Because I've been on that diet too.
