Wow. But I have no idea who Chris O'Dowd is.

They were all good, but Sir Ian McClellan was farking spot on.

I'm not sure I've ever heard someone do Steve Martin, but goddamn, that was uncanny.

The McKellan, the Bridges and the Buscemi were uncanny.

Oh, for goodness' steak. For all intensive purposes, they're one in the same.

doctor wu: Wow. But I have no idea who Chris O'Dowd is.

IT crowd, moone boy, and another show with the BBC (i think) and HBO (showtime?). Irish actor.  pretty funny, and all his shows make me laugh.

this impressionist was pretty good!

2014-02-27 10:20:15 PM
Wow. Yeah, he'll get work after this

2014-02-27 10:38:16 PM
Wow.
Impressive.

Wow, agreed on the comment above. I've never heard anyone do Steve martin. That was incredible, and easily his best of that reel.

sure haven't: Wow, agreed on the comment above. I've never heard anyone do Steve martin. That was incredible, and easily his best of that reel.

He damn near had the 'eyes'.

rcantley: I'm not sure I've ever heard someone do Steve Martin, but goddamn, that was uncanny.

Astonishing. I'd never heard anyone copy him other than excuuuuuse me or wild and crazy guy. Uncanny is the right word for most of these.

2014-02-28 12:10:47 AM
Goddamn.  Close your eyes and you could scarcely tell it wasn't the real actors.  And yeah, never heard anyone do Buschemi or non-character Martin before, and he nailed them.  Guy's got skills.

2014-02-28 12:15:18 AM
My brain shorted out at McKellan ... that was scary good

oh, the voicemails I would leave if I had those chops

2014-02-28 12:47:53 AM
I'm blown away... and it's not like he did the easy classics like Stallone and Ahnold.  There's a great deal of subtlety to his Steve Martin, but still very recognizable.  How have we not heard of this guy until right now?

phlegmmo: I've never seen anyone do Steve Buscemi before.  Great impression.

Without having seen the video, I imagine all it would take is a mouthful of misshapen teeth like the Mouth of Sauron, and then just be ugly and condescending.

2014-02-28 01:56:17 AM
Was hoping for a Christopher Walken impression. Oh well.
Guy is really talented, though. Could tab out just listening and know exactly who he was imitating, and doing it well.

2014-02-28 01:58:49 AM
I wonder what his Michael Cain sounds like...

2014-02-28 02:11:38 AM
His Buscemi was a little more like Regis. But I liked Bridges, Neeson, and Malkovich.

In the one from subby's link? I'll have to rewatch it. My luck it was right when I was trying to get my headphones plugged in.

Agree with the comments above, this is a nice change of pace from the usual set.

(Though Chris O'whoever is a strange thing to throw into a bit full of huge names.)

Nailed it! Along with his Patrick Stewart. I'd hire him to hang out at my place, talking like Patrick and Ian while I made speaker phone calls to all my friends.

nmrsnr: His McKellan was uncanny.

Yes, and his Malkovich was pretty good as well. I don't think I've ever seen someone do Martin's voice without the words "wild and crazy!"

10/10 for variety, which I think is key to the gig. Do 10 voices super-accurately. Most of these guys try to do a hundred a shave above party trick grade.

It's impressive (pun intended) how much better impressionists have gotten technically since the corny old bad days of Vegas hacks like Rich Little.

Old Michael Caine or old Michael Caine?

Pretty good flick, but it dragged on in a couple of spots.

Broadsheet journalists have described my impressions as stunningly accurate.(F-word)

Love that movie.

I thought someone who does impressions was an impersonator and that an impressionist was an artist who painted impressionist works.

2014-02-28 12:23:40 PM
McKellan and Bridges were good.  The rest would've been passable on Robot Chicken.

not to farkers. i've seen that clip posted many times.

//looking forward to the sequel

okay that was pretty cool, a lot of the voices still going in and out but fantastic sense of diction and speech patterns. Malcovich was awesome, heard a little bit of Boris in there from Rounders.

doctor wu: Wow. But I have no idea who Chris O'Dowd is.

This.  Also, this is the best impressionist I have ever seen.
