So this is how my week started.
So I bought this big jug of kitty litter, it was like 30# (which I'm not supposed to be lifting but it was $10!) so after fighting with it, I finally manage to drag it into my living room. I leave it by the door figuring I'll get to it later. Getting around in the morning and remember something right before I walk out the door and BAM! SO that is the nice knot. I also have a nice bruise/rug burn above the knot but pictures don't do it justice. XRs were negative so nothing broken. However, I did learn I can swear quite well at 8 am when I haven't had any caffeine in me yet.

oh. Owww! Glad nothing is broken. Expletives required when stubbing toes, bashing ankles/feet...

Owwwwww! I was going to complain about my sufferings from the side effects of Prednisone, but you win in a knockout before I can even start.

/for which the rest of the Caturday denizens are probably insanely grateful

Walking is ackward, I tend to lean on my right side a lot because my left is a little weaker. Driving is ok, I've been using my R foot to press the gas and the L to hit the brake. Funny thing was, I was laying on the floor because you're stunned at first and then the swearing starts. DaVinci and Bitty run in like "what is going on" and then they get this look on their faces like "Damn, mom's pi***d!"

Cougar kits are extremely cute, but grow into bigger fanged beasts as we know. Glad home for all 3 lined up in NC.
The Ice Queen: regret to hear of your injury but happy no bonebreaks.
Fairly early. take that -- mayhap ought say now, will be bit scarce this Caturday.  Not Done Yet assembling local ham radio for 2 nearby radio shops, not yet done text-only edition for Job Access W Speech to read to 4 blind mbrs, nor audio edition for one who hasn't a computer.. Also Got chorus retreat officially begins 6PM tomorrow, runs til 6PM Sat as includes din-din. Then Sun it's sposed to snow, mayhap heavily, again. Can Not have another chorus reh cancelled due to wx!!!

OUCH! Want to trade your foot for my head? My head feels like it weighs 30#, I can barely breathe. All I want to do is sleep. All I am asking for is just to let me use your head for one hour, long enough for me to form a few understandable sentences with my husband. The cat knows I am sick. He keeps wanting to knead around my nose on my face. Maybe I should let him.

6th of Sweet Pea & likely Scooter's pups died Monday, but this not announced til Wed. Much observation & study, another try likely, hoped to be at least somewhat successful. Shark ray moms don't  raise their pups, let 'em fend for selves; that too bit of challenge.

In my attempt to be much better with my health I went in today for the annual boob squish (which I haven't done in 10 years). When I got to the hospital entrance where the clinic is, they had VALET PARKING! It was great since our temps are in single digits again today. (All is good BTW)

i283.photobucket.comView Full Size

I also start my back-strengthening water exercise class tomorrow. If I can get the back better, I should be able to do more stuff like shopping and housework so I never again get to the point I was a couple of months ago.

It was a combination of not liking my primary care physician and then the unemployment and insurance issues started.

Speaking of pcp, I found out that the nurse-practitioner who has been managing my case at the free clinic has her regular practice at a different clinic in the same health management organization as my other Dr. who I don't like so, once my Medicare kicks in, I can see her as my primary care and she will already have access to my records. She actually listens to me and makes me feel like she cares and welcomes my active participation in my care decisions. (She is also the one who called the cops for a wellness check when she couldn't reach me after getting the original blood tests done).

Only drawback is that she isn't quite as cuddly as this Dr.:

sno man: catmandu: In my attempt to be much better with my health I went in today for the annual boob squish (which I haven't done in 10 years). When I got to the hospital entrance where the clinic is, they had VALET PARKING! It was great since our temps are in single digits again today. (All is good BTW)

[i283.photobucket.com image 500x574]

I also start my back-strengthening water exercise class tomorrow. If I can get the back better, I should be able to do more stuff like shopping and housework so I never again get to the point I was a couple of months ago.

[i283.photobucket.com image 600x434]

One more thing... Lily's post reminded me.
If you are going to go that long between squishes, you need to find a full time hands on inspector...

Well, that would be nice but I haven't met anyone recently who I would want for the job.

My dearest friends, I need to invoke the power of Caturday - the white one is not doing at all well right now. I got home this afternoon from a job interview only to find him seemingly unable to urinate, as well as some drops of blood on the floor in front of his litter box. Of course I immediately realized that this was indicative of either an infection or a blockage (which in his already compromised condition is no joke) and I totally lost it.

I called my sainted vet to see if there was anything I could do since I was unable to afford to bring him in. Ceiling Cat bless the woman, she said "hell yes, just bring him in RIGHT NOW and we will worry about the bill later". (She also kept the place open past closing time to finish his treatment).

So I promptly shoved him into his carrier, and drove though the snow and 5 degree below zero wind chill while shaking like a leaf and trying not to think the worst. Diagnosis at this point is a very serious bladder infection with severe inflammation - probably not a blockage - (as his bladder was not grossly distended and the vet was able to express a small amount of urine). She gave him both antibiotic and anti-inflammatory shots, and I got to take him home with me, now we just have to wait and see what happens in the next 24 hours.

I hope for the best, since Dragon is a tough little farker, but the possibility remains that he could crash and burn - so PLEASE, cross all paws, arms, legs, eyes, what have you - any good wishes/vibes/prayers would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a total mess right now, but I will try to do my best to keep you all updated.

Hey everybody!  New cat Jasper is getting along with his new brother just fine, but he's still very much a kitten.  He says hello to the Caturday folks and hopes to be around for a long, long time.  Let him offer you all kisses:

img849.imageshack.usView Full Size

He had worms they got rid of before I adopted him, but he still eats like he's hungry all the time.  That's the only problem so far.  He's still a kitten so he is testing boundaries, and one of those boundaries is trying to eat our food at dinner, or jumping on the table, or eating food off the stove.  We're still working on that.

If you look really close you can see his extra-sexy color-coordinated name tag.

The Ice Queen: So this is how my week started.

Dood...!  Oww!  Glad nothing's broken.  Hope you feel better fast!
The important thing is, you can still make it to the cat food cupboard, right?
RIGHT???

Abby is like that with people food too! She was really bad about that when I brought her home at 6 weeks of age or so. She took a flying leap onto my plate of spaghetti that first night. A couple of days later she did an amazing sky hook motion & made hubby's ham sandwich fly through the air off of the plate he was trying to hold out of her reach.

This is the most recent picture I have of Corky, who lives with my parents.  She's just about six months and I took her in for the Big Fix on Monday.  She was a very good girl - hardly a peep in the carrier and was no problem at the vet.  She was a bit groggy afterward, but the surgery went well, she's healing up just fine, and is back to her usual self.  Here's Corky attacking my sandal:

sherpa18: My dearest friends, I need to invoke the power of Caturday - the white one is not doing at all well right now.

Sending all the good karma and thoughts possible your way....

New here? ;D That is his signature prop to drop into any bathroom photo. I'm kind of disappointed if he doesn't add it to someones photo.

Hello everybodeee!

 ^-^
='.'=

Car's in the shop, but that's OK...probably wouldn't be able to find it under all the snow anyway.
I step out and shovel the porch so the clowder has a place to catch some rays...until it starts snowing again.
Kids have been trying to keep Mama asleep through the worst of the cold and snow...a minimum of two sitting ON me (when I'm down, of course), with an option of a third on or beside...and the fourth beside.

Last night we had full house, so to speak...Wimsey at my left hand (his favorite position), Raven and Riktor curled together between my knees (I LUBS my recliner) and the mighty D'Artagnan reclining comfortably on the back of the chair up by my head. All of them had their purrrrrrrr machines in low gear for a long, steady haul....

Going to take advantage of being vertical, concious, and cat-free (they are sleeping off a snack) to get stuff done! Catch up with y'all in a bit...

Here's a bunch of hugs...CATCH!

Thanks to one and all for the good wishes, prayers, good vibes, appendage crossing, etc., it appears to be helping! The white one is drinking and urinating (yay), but still rather frequently and it remains blood tinged (boo). Also, his appetite is a touch off, and he is obviously a bit uncomfortable as he is more restless than usual.

However, I just spoke to the vet, and she says all of this is normal and are good signs that he is getting over the hump, it will just take time to allow the meds to kick in. (breathes huge sigh of relief) We both love you all, and the white boy wants to let you know that he is "resting comfortably", as they say...

i am glad he is progressing. Some people are looking to pay the bill. You will not argue. It will be done. This is the power of Caturday. I will pass on the name and partics of your Sainted vet, so that payment may begin. We love you and Dragon, and know that in better times, you have done more than pay forward. In the mean time, take a breathe, talk to us, we haz your back, and it is our pleasure.
