ArmednHammered: Complete farking threadjack for a movie review warning!

Just got the movie Gravity. If you are in any way technically inclined, be prepared to suspend reality completely.
The first 30 minutes had me saying WTF!!! Don't know what happened after that, I shut it off and gave up! The director wants you to believe the Hubble telescope, International Space Station and the Chinese space station are in the same orbit and are close enough to each other to be visible. What a shait movie! ARRRRGGG!
poast moar cats!!!!111!!
/end rant, we now return you to your regularly scheduled Caturday thread....

OK, stuff like that is why I can't watch the series "Vikings". I was warned though, so there's that. The way I was warned was one of my metal head/wannabe Heathen friends started to ask me about Ragnar Lodbrok's raid on Lindisfarne and I made a face, interrupted and immediately corrected him "IIRC, Ragnar Lodbrok wasn't even born when Lindisfarne was raided". He then said "if someone were to make a pretty cool little miniseries or show and it had a lot of things like Odin and his ravens looking slightly creepy wandering past the battle dead, but it also had a lot of things like foreshadowing of Ragnar perhaps plotting to attack Lidnisfarne, would you be entertained or scream at the TV?" Considering my behavior at comic book movies and how those have nothing to do with my ancestors and aren't even pretending to be "historical", I think we all know the answer to that one.

Real Women Drink Akvavit: Diocletian's Last Cabbage: Uh-ohs!  I posted a comment about drinking, and that was post # six hundred and sixty six!

Going to need lots of posts with ceiling kitteh tomorrow to rebalance the thread.  Or basement kitteh, whatever.

No rebalancing necessary! A few of us here are metal heads, which means we serve as a buffer from all spiritual evil (kinda like a high level cleric spell in AD&D, but more of a continuous effect thing). I knew we had hit 666 here when Satan popped up in my kitchen and personally reviewed the new Behemoth album for me. This means the rest of you should be in the clear and that I need to at least listen to the new Behemoth album before I lose my hard won grim, kvlt and tru black metal wench status. \m/

Middle of page 14.  So I had every intention of getting on for Bunday, but my long-suffering laptop saw the internet after years of sneakernet and said, "Yipeee I get to download updates!"  My fault, really.  I'm supposed to be a technicians, but it slipped my mind to adjust the update settings on my browser/OS/apps.  Will have to sit down and actually finger out how to do that, too!

Thanx for looking out for my sole RWDA, even though I'm not much of a believer in anything anymore.

On the plus side, I got my fist kill of the year!!  Snap trap got a mouse in the cellar.  Bagged, trashed, and two peanut butter trap resets later and I'm eagerly awaiting the next wave.  Bunnies and mouses beware!

/wonder on the side of what object I should paint the mouse outline
//if I kill 5 critters do I become a Caturday ace?

Adds up to 18... almost legal.....

But 1 place 8 = 9.  And 9 is divisible by 3.  And 3 is often considered a magic number.  Do you realize what this means?

666 is divisible by magic!

/I put the 'numb' in numbers!

Finally got my liptop to work and al set to dive onto Caturday and, wouldn't yo know it?!  An all day "Throw The Wormhoe" with Morgan Freeman is no.  One of the things I alwasy look forward to when house-sitting is catching up on sciency-kind and histarical documentaries.  So here it is, and Caturday too.  Decisions, decisions!

tigerose: valnt9 I did issue a hankie alert. Purrhaps " emotional typoon" would have been better? Did I mention how much it means to me to have you all read and enjoy my muse? Putting my art out there is always a perilous thing for me. So tha k you all for your kindness. It means the world to me.

No thanx necessary, TR.  I always enjoy reading your inspirational lines and pines.  I understand how you mean when you say putting out art is a perilous thing.  It makes you feel vulnerable, wondering if the contribution of your poetry or prose will be accepted or mocked by your community of like-minded individuals.

I feel the same way whenever I submit an East Asian trip report   :-{O

John Buck 41: tigerose: akimbotoo I am glad you liked it. I was thinking the other day, that if there is a poem that I have written, that you guize have saved that seems appropriate, please repost it. Just recopy my signature. I think I have going on 200 poems? Even I do not remember all of them. Picka fav. I would be honored.

From  last summer

You're giving me a special gift,
So sorrowfully endowed,
And through these last few cherished days,
Your courage makes me proud.

But really, love is knowing
When your best friend is in pain,
And understanding earthly acts
Will only be in vain.

So looking deep into your eyes,
Beyond, into your soul,
I see in you the magic that will
Once more make me whole.

The strength that you possess,
Is why I look to you today,
To do this thing that must be done,
For it's the only way.

That strength is why I've followed you,
And chose you as my friend,
And why I've loved you all these years....
My partner 'till the end.

Please, understand just what this gift,
You're giving, means to me,
It gives me back the strength I've lost.
And all my dignity.

You take a stand on my behalf,
For that is what friends do.
And know that what you do is right,
For I believe it too.

So one last time, I breathe your scent,
And through your hand I feel,
The courage that's within you,
To now grant me this appeal.

Cut the leash that holds me here,
Dear friend, and let me run,
Once more a strong and steady dog,
My pain and struggle done.

And don't despair my passing,
For I won't be far away,
Forever here, within your heart,
And memory I'll stay.

I'll be there watching over you,
Your ever faithful friend,
And in your memories I'll run,
.....a young dog once again

(C)tigerose 7/14

Here come the tears again. You never forget.

sherpa18: [ image 324x184]My dearest friends, it is my great pleasure to inform you that the one and only Dragon seems to be continuing to improve rapidly - he has pretty much returned to his normal litter box behavior (urinating a normal amount, no straining, albeit still a little more pinkish-red tinged than I would like), eating well, and sleeping comfortably as opposed to wandering restlessly.

I attribute his recovery as much to the power of Caturday as I do to his veterinary care. Thank you all so much from both of us, from the bottom of our hearts!!!!

Hooray for Dragon's recovery and Sherpa's morale!!

I thought the St Andrew's Cross flag was flown before the acquisition of Scotland by the sasanach?  Surely that flag would be what Scots Patriots would want to fly?

Finally reached end of page 18, gotta go for now.

This weekend I learned that;

 - mice need to be trapped, but I probably shouldn't brag about it online

 - Dragon is getting better, GO DRAGON!

 - switching gfrom desktop typing to laptop typing can be tirckey

 - know your horse and laptop

 - Alien is a tough customer, but still needs mass quantities of hugs anf TLC

 - you can drink any day of the year, as long as that day ends in a 'why?'

 - Catculus uses Jupiter as a mathematical symbol.

Anfd now, more critters

Sassenachs, she typed brandishing Editorial Machete best used elsewhere (shortly). As in last sentence writ in Garb of True Scotsman in Stag&Thistle, newsltr of Clan Scott Jan-Mar issue by Kevin Scott of Glasgow: "well worth a visit for all native Scots, ex-patriots & tourists alike."  Refers to Scottish Tartan Society in Princes St, Edinburgh. Kevin gonna finally be castigated by moi, also shortly.  He ought know better!
Unca Cabbage, I always thought St Andrew's Cross was first, too.
It's this little diva's 18th birthday today; ol' Dad's b';day pres. typed Erd91. copied 0 comments from imgur where snatched from.  This leapt out, thought I saw cats; had no findable Gaelic cats saved.  Only slight re-scale needed.

Diocletian's Last Cabbage: AlienDandelion: Well Family,

I was invited for a sleepover at my best friends tonight - He said he wants to take care of me
since I had my stitches taken out yesterday.
He's a good man...when he wants to be.
99% of the time he's just a brat :)

But I will be back in later tomorrow for sure!
Helps me while I do my job applying :)
