VOCSL5: Just wanted to quick post:
On 2-7-14, I lost Kuroi, my 10 year old little boy (black american short-hair).  He'd been with me through everything in the last 10 years; truly my partner in life.  I'm at work, so I can't post a pic, but here's to you Kuroi!  :*(

So sorry to hear this. It may not help but just know that we've all been where you are right now.

Well Family,

I was invited for a sleepover at my best friends tonight - He said he wants to take care of me
since I had my stitches taken out yesterday.
He's a good man...when he wants to be.
99% of the time he's just a brat :)

But I will be back in later tomorrow for sure!
Helps me while I do my job applying :)

I know I haven't been around in forever, but Catastrophe insisted that I come to support her beloved Dragon.  She is beside herself.  She has decided it would somehow be helpful to roll around in glitter.  Does rolling around in glitter help?

My apologies for the pic quality.  She wouldn't stop moving.

Have to work this weekend, after working four straight days with only yesterday off.  Ugh.  But everything here is going well enough.  Second date was last night and we both had a good time.  Planning on something again next weekend, so, so far so good.  Kittehs are still crazy, as somehow Adama has gone nuts here the last few days.  Probably decided it was time to show Starbuck that she wasn't the only one allowed to go psycho in the house.  Hopefully these next three days go quickly, and I can finally have a couple of days to get the house in order and relax some.  Have a great day everyone.

sherpa18 - So glad to hear Dragon is doing better.  **HUGS** to  you and **Scritches** to my favorite White Boy :)

AlienDandelion - HOORAY!!!!!  I MISSED YOU!!!!  Lars and Cassie send snuggles your way.

lajimi - Glad to hear you're out of the hospital & on the mend.  I hope you don't have to stay in the rehab part for too long **Hugs**

VOCSL5 and SleepyWeasel - I'm so sorry to hear about your losses :(  It's never easy to let them go... **Big Hugs**

Ok... That was apparently the end of my memory... I know there were other people I wanted to comment about.  Welcome to newbies!  Umm... Yeah... Memory crapped out on me.  So here are some new cat pics.

This is very current.  I just took it :)  Lars is "helping" me post!

Hai good Caturday folk (and their hoomins)! Lots of hugs and skritches going out - and welcome to the noobs and delurkers! It's always good to see people come out of hiding, even if the impetus for that is not always something pleasant. At least you know we're here and we're friendly, empathetic, compassionate and a little nutty (but in a good way, not a "talk to ourselves while painting stop signs outside churches and playgrounds with our own feces - in the nude" way. At least I don't *think* anyone here is that kind of nutty. If someone is, I absolutely do not want pictures of that. Ever.)

ferfer72: Does rolling around in glitter help?

Pffft. Well, YEAH. Rolling in glitter always helps EVERYTHING. It's right up there with booze and chocolate that way. Why the hell else would you roll in glitter? I try and keep mine limited to my fingernails because it's scratchy in your eyes, but it's obviously there for a reason. Cats know this. They probably inspired humans to invent glitter in the first place. They're pretty smart that way.

*sigh* I remember "work". I miss it. :'-( When I get better, I'm going to make up for lost time and get TWO jobs. I feel like I'm missing out and it's not just the money situation. Congrats on the whole 'dating' thing. I never did start that again, really. Too traumatized by the ex. Now I'm highly suspicious of EVERYONE, especially if they act like they might, you know, actually LIKE me. Good for you for being all brave and stuff!

I'm trying not to fall back asleep and am trying to decide on a nail art design using this, since I already painted my whole nails that color:
www.thedailyvarnish.com
(pic shamelessly stolen from the nice lady at The Daily Varnish)

I'm going to avoid St Patrick's Day inspired art because I've decided the colors of the flag of Ireland are hideous together even if you are drunk and it's so cold even my polish is cold, which means my water marble technique shamrock I was going to do is a no-go. The polish dries the minute it hits the water. :-/ So, screw that crap, I'll think of something else.

Here, have a cat!

So Mr DaVinci had to go to the vet today for boosters. The little shiat won't gain weight. Well, just an ounce or 2. The little snot is a food whore bottomless pit! So we wormed him again just in case as well. He'll probably just be like Bitty and take for-freaking-ever to top the 5# mark.

On the other hand, the tech was doing the preliminary exam and she's like "someone lost their first tooth". Yep, little man has a little gap where he lost a tooth in the past day. He's also getting his big boy fangs.

He's maturing so fast (can't say growing since the little shiat WON'T GROW!)

This week, my cat Sterling got sprayed by a skunk, again.
Considering his age and aggressive attitude, bathing him in tomato juice is no longer an option.
Fed up with his smelly stubborness, I told Sterling to go stick his head under a faucet or something.

SleepyWeasel: Last Saturday we had to put our beloved Sasha down.  She was 19 years old and suffering from sinus cancer.  She has traveled more than most people, from PA to NC to OK to Okinawa to TX to NC again.  The decision was agonizing for us and my wife actually caught flak from Facebook knuckleheads.  In response she wrote and posted this on Facebook.  I think it sums up everything:

It's such an easy thing to sit back and judge, and believe me...I have done my fair share of it too. However, my Mom used to always say that we need to walk a mile in someone else's shoes to really understand them. I've surely lived long enough to realize how true that is. Every day people make choices and decisions that we just don't understand...because we haven't walked that mile in their shoes. ... Let me tell you friends, euthanasia is a hell of a thing ...it really is. To be given the ability, the privilege and the responsibility to end the suffering of a loved one...it's a hell of a thing. However, unless you have looked into the eyes of a beloved pet, a pet that has been your friend and companion for more years than most of the people you know, has traveled with you through countries and states, heart ache, pain and loss, and when your children have taken wing, and found their own paths, this dear friend spent as much time in your child's room, waiting for their return, as you have ...and you have had to try to decide if the quality of their life is gone...so completely gone that the most humane thing you can do is to have them "put down". Unless you have prayed more times than you can count, that you will just wake up one morning and find them...sleeping that endless sleep that will carry them peacefully on to their next life. Unless you have gotten up one morning, after so many mornings of wondering...if today is the day, and you think..."yes, I think this is it...I think it's time." Unless you have fed them their one last favorite meal, and held them tight and told them how special t ...

I was stepping out on the back deck for a bit of fresh air and to check on the property.  As I closed the back door I happened to look down.  The mangiest cotton-tail rabbit was munching on the leftover sunflower seeds that fell from the hanging bird feeder.

As I watched the rabbit, it looked up and noticed me.  It ran off, frightening its little buddy, who ran off as well.

All I could think of was DAMNIT, I brought my cheesy $5.98 Kmart Kamera with me, and I don't even have it to snap Caturday pics!

Weirdly, I'm watching a back episode of Mythbusters right now, and they just claimed that that combination of products beat commercial de-skunking products.  Unfortunately, they didn't say what the ratio was.
