If there is anything going on in your employer's business that distracts from the work his employees are doing, he should be made aware.

Wow, that's gotta be one of the shortest answers ever for Dear Abby.

It's like the Oracle at Delphi has taken over writing the Dear Abby column.

Is he a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical, bigot?

Joke of the day:

Two partners in a law firm.

The first one says, "Hey.  Are you f*cking the new secretary?"

The second one says no.

"Good!"  says the first one.  "Then you fire her."

You should tell your married boss that you need a raise.

2.) You'll get over it.

Where's Prudie? This letter needs some incest, some reverse vampires and a wizard.

Oh God yes! Yes, you absolutely should.

Doooo eeeet!!

How about minding our own business.

How f*cking drunk do you have to be to completely obfuscate a Dear Abby column, subs?

Need to see picture of said secretary

Until then, I'll supply my own.

thamike: How f*cking drunk do you have to be to completely obfuscate a Dear Abby column, subs?

I was wondering the same thing. The secretary is the person writing to Dear Abby, not the person farking with her boss.

What's obvious here is the secretary is just jealous of her co-worker, and the best solution is to arrange a threesome.

2014-02-27 01:58:51 PM
She should join in!

No, you extort a raise out of him.

Most companies like that also have strict 'gossip' rules.  I'd check with HR first, then more than likely shut my trap and gbtw.

No, don't tell anyone, just sit back and enjoy the show

2014-02-27 02:00:35 PM
That's the problem with information. If everyone in the office knows it, then you cannot use it as leverage.

Easiest blackmail ever.  Get a promotion and then use said promotion to get out of the company in six months because when the secretary farking ends (and it will somehow), you want to be gone before the boss cane exact revenge on you.

Get to work.

FTA: DEAR VACILLATING: If there is anything going on in your employer's business that distracts from the work his employees are doing, he should be made aware.

This is terrible advice. What you do is make jokes behind the boss's back till the whole thing blows up in his face (when you get to laugh even harder) or he gets let go in the next round of reorgs. I think the Germans call that "schadenfreude."

*running away giggling*

Because in neither case is she relaying gossip. She is relaying the fact that other people are gossiping about him (which is true) and this is disrupting her work because they keep pestering her for information (also true). So it is both (a) true and (b) worth related. I agree with Abby that she would be remiss in her job duties is she did not inform her boss of these two facts. It is entirely possible to relay this information in an objectively neutral way that passes no judgement on the situation.

People really need to mind their own f#cking business.  I have to put up with this shiat enough in my own work environment and don't need to hear about it from this biatch.

A little too late for that.  Now it's a column.

A little voice keeps telling me that, as his personal secretary, he may want to be made aware that people are talking about him behind his back,

Stopped reading right there. That's not in the job description and it has nothing to do with your job. Get in on time, shuffle your papers, sign out, and go home. Work is not high school.

You are one of those people who like to keep up shiat and be in the middle of it, aren't you? You even create situations in your mind to justify your shiat stirring, just look what you did in your post.

Her boss might not be her employer, though. If the boss does have an inappropriate office relationship, then reporting to him would be kind of futile.

/also if the boss screwing the hot new girl screws others out of pay raises and promotions, you bet it gonna be reported

FTFA:
DEAR ABBY: My husband and I love each other and have three beautiful children, but we struggle in our marriage because of the stress of daily life. Lack of money has taken a toll. Sometimes we both work two jobs. Other times we find ourselves faced with difficult choices -- like whether to buy groceries, or pay the electric bill or the mortgage. (We often can't do all three.)
I know we're not the only family in this situation. You often advise people to seek guidance from a professional counselor. Can you share any resources for those of us who do not have the money or the insurance coverage to pay for counseling? -- HOLDING ON IN ARKANSAS

DEAR HOLDING ON: Quick question--did you vote for your local, state, or national leaders based on their promises to protect you from the gays, the Mexicans, or the lack of Jesus in our schools?
If so, you should know that those leaders lied to you about their motivations, and are currently doing everything in their power to divert the nation's wealth and prospects for wealth to their rich friends and benefactors. Your misery, while tragic, is somewhat self-inflicted.
If not, you live in a state filled with morons who did vote thus.  One inexpensive source of therapy is to start punching some sense into your friends and neighbors.  Cheap stick-on rhinestones can add a satisfying sting to each strike.

FTA:   DEAR ABBY: Should I or shouldn't I tell my boss that more than a few people have come to me asking if he is fooling around with a young woman here in the office?

Dear VACILLATING:  No, and you should be more careful in the future with your flings with your boss.  People are beginning to notice.  Also, you are not that young.

And be the snitch?  No way.  I'd like my every day work experience with co workers at least cordial.  Maybe an anonymous letter to the boss, at most.

I think it indicates growth.  Two years ago there would have been cries of "shouldn't you be in the kitchen making me a sandwich."

Fark is growing up.
