You're a braver man than I, good sir.

When I was a night manager at a liquor store, our wine sales guy kept talking about it and I swore he was just messing with me, until he ordered a case of it. He opened one up and the smell of beer poured over a hooker's meat locker filled the store. I rejected all acknowledgement of a God and wept openly.

I'm glad someone else noticed this.

I used to be a salesman for an A-B distributor. They introduce a product that doesn't make sense in the long term, then they blame sales staff when it fails in the short term. Then they'll buy a brand (Bass, Goose Island), let it wither while hyping Stella and Bud Light. Then A-B wonders aloud why their sales numbers are slipping and blame the sales staff.

bud light is what i drink when i'm out at a concert, want a beer, don't want to spend much money, don't want to risk getting drunk (i would get sick from simply consuming too much carbonated liquid long before bud light ever got me drunk). it tastes ok, and being a light american "lager", it's actually refreshing like a soda when it's cold.

when LIME-A-RITA first came out, i would buy a large can at the exxon on my way home and drink it over the course of a couple of hours. i LOVE margeritas, and that was a reasonable substitute for about $3. but then one night i bought one and got about 1/2 thru the can and had to stop. i suddenly didn't like them anymore.

had a straw-ber-rita or 2 at a friend's house one night. not bad. won't go buying them though.

See, it seems to me that orange juice would not be a good idea. Frozen lemonade made with crappy light beer instead of water is pretty good, though, because it mostly tastes like lemonade, it's cold, and you can drink it in the summer when it's hot out without getting stupid like you would if you were drinking frozen margaritas all day. I always heard that called a shandy, although that might just be a regional thing.

I really hate to say it, but you're right (at least the standard margarita ones).  Someone left a few at my house and I was surprised as I don't like sugary/syrupy alcoholic drinks.  Usually its beer or straight unmixed liquor for me, but top one off with a little tequila and it's a pretty passable margarita.

I always wondered why Zima got such a bad rep too.

NASAM: WTFDYW: notarobot: Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom: If these were brewed at some shiathole in Oregon and called Doghead Spectre Raspberry Ale all the beer snobs would be raving.

It must be tiring being a full time troll.

No. Dow is absofarkinglutely correct. Beer threads are like food threads, hot sauce threads, car threads etc. If it's domestic, it's shiat in the eyes of most farking farkers. If a blind taste test were done with dog piss vs Doghead most of the idiots here on fark couldn't tell the farking difference. YOu just try to sound cool and shiat but actually, you just look like a farking dipshiat.

No. You get my point and you know I'm right.

Lawlborough: Le Bomb Suprize: Budweiser, which spends almost 1/2 a billion dollars per year in marketing has had nothing but a string of new product failures since the introduction of Bud Light in 1982.   This will be just be the next one.

It seems standard for large corporations. They spend years figuring out just how many corners they can cut with their products, then are surprised when a start up  gets popular. Then they either buy the start up, or make a crappy copycat and market the hell out of it.

I've always wondered if they might come out ahead simply by making a good quality product at a fair price, and stopped spending so much on marketing and gimmicks. But I don't have an MBA, so what the hell do I know?
