Someone actually managed to get expelled from the Senate for ethics violations? Shocking, truly shocking.

What a corrupted cesspool masquerading as a honorable system of government.   Even Obama with all his speech about lobbyists could not change a thing.
Is there a way we could make a few major changes to the constitution without letting the morons and corrupted ones participate?

They probably do make great lobbyists. No one ever said lobbyists are ethical.

Not it's right just pointing out the facts.

I am convinced that they ALL are guilty of violating ethics and just convince one of their own to fall on their sword from time to time to make it look like they are really trying to stop it.

With the 1st amendment it makes it hard to set up rules.

Definitely limiting money and how many can be given to campaigns is about the best thing you can do to limit it as much as possible.

Ok, but "Someone actually managed to get a unanimous recommendation for expulsion from the Senate Ethics committee before resigning" doesn't materially change my point.

As this is an article about Bob Packwood, a former Republican Senator, becoming a lobbyist, I don't see how Dems would be relevant (unless you included them in the list of people who would have voted BobbyPack out of office if he hadn't quit first or something).

...unless you're clamoring for some type of mandated balance - a doctrine which would be one of fairness.

I didn't even read page 1. This is fark, dude person-on-the-internet...

But it looks like yes, you do want Politico to mandate "fairness" by including Democrats in any article about Republican malfeasance. Why?

Did someone lead you to believe the media was fair and balanced?

If somebody comes along with just *one* example of a Democratic U.S. Senator or Congressman serving in the last 20 years who resigned or was tossed out for ethics violations who's since hired on as a lobbyist, then I'll apologize for calling you "crybaby".

Crybaby.

And I don't want to hear any whining about it.
