The water was cold: According to a Paste Magazine article on movie ad libs:
Frankentots: Can you imagine how much money she saved?
rickythepenguin: yeah but aren't there also accounts that they did several takes?
Is she going to be on I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant?
GDubDub: I used to think such a thing, public birth, would be quite embarrassing. Then several women tell me that when they were in severe labor, they didn't care if the entire freaking world had a front seat.
special20: For me, the Twidiots were the laughiest part of the article.
Arkanaut: But was the taxi in every scene?
rickythepenguin: The water was cold: According to a Paste Magazine article on movie ad libs:yeah but aren't there also accounts that they did several takes? great scene don't get me wrong but i thought that was an urban legend in itself.i think my favorite ad lib is jim carrey's chicken skin to the face in "Cable Guy"; "silence.....of the lambs!" you can see matthew broderick crack.and also, people cite harrison ford's "i know" in ESB, but, isn't the story that Ford told Lucas after several takes of "i love you too", that he wanted to try something different? if it was kinda planned, is it not an ad lib?/pedanticmitter
bborchar: Basically. Doctors, nurses, students...all sorts of people are in and out of your room in a hospital, so it gets to the point that you just don't really give a damn and just want it all over.
TNel: "I walked down the block and watched someone give birth in the middle of street. New York is weird. "New York is weird? How about you standing around watching someone give birth is weird. Jesus how about you make sure they are in good hands and go about your day.
H31N0US: Not a cent. The EMTs loaded her up and took her to the nearest ho$pital (Mt $inai I'd guess) for "observation", without a doubt. The only bill she saved was the OBGYN but, there's still going to be a follow up there, and now she owes for the ambulance ride and the EMTs.
factoryconnection: Babies born in taxis, cars, elevators and other "well I guess this is happening now" situations have very good outcomes. It is the prolonged, not-sure-if-this-is-happening-or-if-it-is-just-the-pitocin talking births that can go South fast.H31N0US: Not a cent. johnnygew: And don't forget the machine that goes 'ping'!
