At least they're communicating. It's always awkward when the two of them are in the same room and they're taking to you but making loaded references to each other.

Nope, but their presence pays for Drew's functional alcoholism, so we pretend not to see them.

I really hope they start concentrating their efforts on each other.

I find the adblocker nag to be much less distracting than the featured links. Sorry Drew, get that crap out of the newsfeed and I'll whitelist you.

That's been British and to some extent American foreign policy related to that region for a couple hundred years, and it's actually one of the main reasons that the region is a net exporter of anti west hate machines.

I occasionally see some that I'd like to click on, but don't because it's a featured partner. Once I clicked on one because I didn't read the full description then realized my mistake when I went to look for the comments. I probably would click on them if there were comments even though they'd probably go like the Wampler links.

"Should you refuse... hundreds of members of the Ummah (Islamic nation) will fight (your) ignorant and aggressive ideology, even in Iraq," he said.

That is some nuclear weapons grade irony right there.  Or is it just the Ahktar calling the Muhammed black?

It was a perfectly fine strategy for undermining any regional powers until the oil showed up and the West realized that they needed them to be stable enough to build oil wells and pipelines. So pro-West governments were supported over the will of the people. As soon as the oil runs out or alternatives are found the West will go back to treating the Middle East like Sub-Saharan Africa, not giving a crap what happens there.

The other option is to be the world police. Then everyone gets upset at the wars fought over there.

So, the people who are upset about the US presence fighting in a faction war in someone else's country are themselves fighting in a faction war in someone else's country and lecturing a third party fighting in a faction war in someone else's country.  Is there some sort of righteousness to this hypocrisy that I am missing?

OK, I'm still confused. Obviously, since the Saudis are supplying these guys with stuff we've given them, these are the "good" Al-Quaeda (because if we are giving them stuff, it implies goodness), but where are the "bad" Al Quaeda?

You know, the ones we are supposed to hate, as opposed to these guys in Syria?
