In case you are wondering, that is 4,918.00 an hour if he worked 8 hours a day, seven days a week, and he isn't even near the top of the ladder. These people live in a completely different reality from the average man and woman. I'm not saying it's right or wrong; rather it just... is.

Must be nice.

And even then, none of them are even close to the mid-section of the REAL ladder. They may be part of the 1%, but they're the 99% of the 1%.

what I'm saying is. You can divide the chart in 99.99% vs 0.01% and it's still the same effect.

A microscopic amount of people on this planet are hogging resources equivalent to all the rest combined. We NEED to get rid of capitalism. I'm not necessarily advocating for socialism (although I've never heard a real reason why it wouldn't work), because I won't fall into that false dilemma trap. But we need to find a new system or we will all perish in the process. Well, maybe not all all, since some people will survive, but jeez, the downfall from this artificial high is going to be haaaard.

And don't tell me it can't be done. You can't possibly think Capitalism is going to be our highest achievement and the utmost limit in terms of sociopolitical organization. Heck, even actual Capitalism has been replaced by Neoliberalism, we just keep calling it the same because the powers that be don't want to shake the status quo, thus the term has been relegated to counter-culture outlets.

Eternal accolades for nailing J-Lo, but that's it.

Oh it's wrong, there's no real question about it. But since life isn't about fairness it's not like I would turn it down either. if I had that kind of money I would make the assholes in my life eat so many bags of dicks that when they died at 99 years old, their corpses would have urine breath.

Is this meant to be a joke or something? Marc Anthony is an incredibly popular singer and performer. You may or may not like him, but he's one of the most successful Latin musicians around---I wouldn't be surprised if he actually made more than 15 million dollars per year.

not only is he an incredibly successful artist in the Latino community as  proteus_bexplained. He also has had very good investments that keep the gravy train rolling.

I remember he did "I Need to Know", though it could have been any of the big names when Latin music all of a sudden became big when I was a kid.

Bailamos is a pretty awesome song, but if it hadn't been for his father's success, no one would even know who this guy is. Nepotism in the entertainment industry is just rampant. Look at Shannon Daughtry.

Bailamos (literally "We sing" in Latin) is actually a Ricky Martin song.

That's actually pretty good, even for the 1%. Wikipedia's article on Affluence in the United States puts $1.6 million annual at 0.12% of the population.

Another site puts 0.01% at about $9 million annually.

This definiately puts him in the top 0.01%

He's a one hit wonder here. In Latin America, he is a god. What was big here in the States back during that 'Latin Explosion' phase, and what's actually big in Latin America are two totally different things. Lol, I got a subtle lesson in that when I saw Mago De Oz live!

Some white people seem to think if an artist isn't played daily on the radio where they live then they aren't popular anywhere. They seem to forget that there is a great big world outside of there little bubble.

Yep, yep. Oddly enough, my all time favorite band, Angra, refuses to tour America. They're HUGE everywhere but here, though. Can't blame them for not wanting to tour the land of Lady Gaga and autotune trap rap when they know they can sell out shows in Brazil, Europe and Asia guaranteed. I was going to see Hello Seahorse, who are one of the top selling bands in Mexico, but they cancelled the tour for the same reason. Ditto for the Parlotones. Alphaville won't tour here for the same reason.

Wouldn't say it's just white people though, just alot of Americans in general.

So why exactly won't they tour here? Lady Gaga? Really? You'd think if they had more presence in America (easier now with the internet) they could sell out plenty of venues here, not all venues are arenas after all.

I'm just amazed that his wife gets 13k for 2 kids a month, then another nearly equal sum in spousal support.

I mean, holy shiat - sure it's not that the guy can't afford it, but is it necessary? Really? I can see my way towards providing for the kids that excessive amount of money, but who the hell needs to draw a 6 figure income simply just because they were once married to someone else.

And people wonder why the derp-head mens rights activists can rile people up so bad. It's blatantly sexist.

What the fark are you on about, were you unaware of the Latin explosion of the late 90s? I know you are excited to portray how knowledgable you are about Latin music, but no one claimed or thinks Latin music started in the late 90s. I honestly am shocked you were arrogant enough to write that.

His "net worth" is 20mil USD, and he makes 1.25 mil USD per month?

So... basically, this guy (could have) accumulated his entire net worth in the span of 2-4 years (assuming moderate taxes, expenses, management commissions, etc.)?
