I finally got around to watching Children of Men, and was amused when the inflatable pig made its uncredited appearance.

Now if only they can let bygones be bygones and make a new album and tour.

Love Floyd but not entirely sure what they're trying to accomplish here.

I don't think they have a snowball's chance in hell of getting Richard Wright back for a reunion.

Maybe they are just launching the career of a freak who can be shot in the stomach with a cannonball at close range and survive.

The pig can earn a buck or two, but the band needs to stay in retirement.  If they do get back together, it won't be Floyd.  It will be a couple of old guys rounded out by session musicians.  Does anyone REALLY want to see that version of the band?

/The trio can play together all they want, but it wouldn't be right to call them Pink Floyd.

I wonder how much they had to pay Peter Frampton to get the pig back?  :)

It may involve a haystack of money and fresh incentive for Roger to hate everything.

Also, I thought Frampton had the pig?

Gilmour has stated repeatedly that he's not interested in doing anything Floyd-related for money.

Not going to happen.  Both Gilmour and Waters have said the band ended with the death of Richard Wright.  And really, wasn't the Live 8 reunion a fitting end?

It's a shame Storm isn't alive to work on this exhibit.  Up to the end, he generated new and interesting images, especially for Floyd.

Alot of people said that after Sid died there could be no true Floyd reunion, and I agree somewhat.

I've liked all of the incarnations of Floyd except David's.  He needs Roger to give it that 'edge'.

Rick Wright would be missed for sure, but I'm sure some keyboard virtuoso would love to step in.  Maybe Rick Wakeman or Neil Morse or Richard Barbieri or any number of new bloods.

Many folks say that they don't like to see musicians growing old on stage but I like to go see the geezers giving it a go.  More power to them.  I saw Alan Parsons last Tuesday and it was a good show.  And at 48 I'll be at band pratice tomorrow night.  Playing and preforming is fun and Floyd of all bands has lost sight of that I think.

People need to just get over the ego and make and play music for the joy of it.

I never thought I'd say this again. I'm getting the pig.

Obviously you missed this about three years ago.

/it counts because it was The Final Cut lineup of the band

Nice way for them to collaborate to bring in a little more money and to give their fans something fun to see  without actually having to be in the same room together. Seems a win-win.

Come on, I realize he's put on a few pounds but that's no way to talk about David Gilmour!

Jon Carin doubled Rick Wright for the last two Floyd tours, and is was part of Waters last touring band.  He could certainly handle the gig, but he's not Rick Wright.

Still waiting for them to open up the vault again.

They're sitting on hours of pro recordings of every tour, the bastards.

Can't YouTube at work, so I'm going to assume it's this...

...which doesn't count as a "new" album (ie. new material) or a tour.

How many of those pigs do they have?  One got destroyed after it floated away at Coachella.

Rick Wright was the only member of Pink Floyd who didn't take a financial bath on the first Wall tour, because he'd been fired during the recording of the record, and was on the tour as a salaried musician, not an actual partner in the band.

Pink Floyd should not reunite because they can't. Dead guys have a hard time keeping the beat. Roger Waters is a dick and Gilmour is a god. (I'm obviously partisan since I'm a blues guitarist.) I think it would be very cool to see all the props and other stuff from their career together in one place. But not the band. Some things just need to be left alone so our memories of them are not tainted by an obvious money grab.
