Heads-up from the WTFark video team here:

We may do a WTFark video about this submission and may pick one or two comments from this thread to use in the making of the video. If your comment is used, you will be credited (by handle) at the end of the video. If you have a problem with that and want your handle/comment ignored, then please let us know here. Otherwise, we will assume all are fair game. If you are the subby and want credit, please let us know here as well.

Here's how it works. We will keep track of whose comments we use and when you reach a certain threshold (five times, maybe) we will give you a small gift as a token of gratitude. Say, a Fark bar towel and a free month of TotalFark. If, as time goes on, and we seem to be using more and more of your comments, we will up the ante with some premium liquor for those of you who partake or something else equally appealing for those of you who don't.

The videos will live in the right sidebar here on fark.com and in their natural habitat on ora.tv/wtfark. Click if you like them. Don't if you don't.

We thank you for your support.

Heavy drinking passed him all right, but in a porcine flash of speed and spittle he made up the loss and finished the competition.

I know Rob Ford. We shared an igloo together once.

And a $20 Montreal hooker.

They are designing for mobile instead of using a responsive layout. Really horrid decision. Probably made by a VP who never had to design a website.

Why did Rob Ford get caught jaywalking in Coquitlam?

He was trying to catch up to heavy drinking when it got past him.

"I don't use illegal drugs. I've experimented with them, probably a year ago, but I don't use drugs. We're in great shape," he said.

I don't have a problem, and I can quit whenever I want.

Not only that, but what story did you get for the main screen? I got the freaky huge pregnant Chinese lady. After I recovered, I had to click through to get to the Rob Ford story. Eyes were rolled back in her head like she was dead, and the kid had his head to her stomach like he was listening to the zombie baby ripping its way out...

Rob Ford is a train wreck.
Sure, everyone deserves a second, third maybe even fourth chance at times, an opportunity to admit your failures & focus on rehabilitation and personal growth BUT there's a point where you need to be honest with yourself and the person you are constantly making up excuses to excuse.

I just don't think he's taking this problem with alcohol & drugs seriously enough to deserve a second chance.

/beats reading the want ads for stuff I am not qualified to do

This will be the first one he's bothered to go to, having deemed the last three a waste of time.  This meeting is largely about public housing, so he's going so he can beg the feds for more money for more subways that there are no actual plans for.  If he isn't laughed at openly, I will be disappoint.

I'm so glad the word got out that the subway expansion is a shiat idea. It still blows my mind me how he got so many councillors to vote for it.

2014-02-25 07:09:15 PM
He's probably going to hook up with Marion Barry for the "God damn biatch set me up!" convention.  I understand Bill Clinton is going to be an honorary speaker.

2014-02-25 07:12:22 PM
Man, I am glad I am in Nova Scotia now, since all our corruptions stems from thirty years of ineptitude. Although it would bring some spice to the Atlantic Provinces if he was here.

So is rob ford the canadian equivilant of charlie sheen, or ted kennedy sans self control?

2014-02-25 07:23:01 PM
And why does Today even care about this? Does he have a finger on the nuclear trigger? No? Then it's Toronto's problem. Just like Boris Johnson going on a drunken bender would be London's problem.

2014-02-25 07:25:02 PM
I wish him the best of luck. I've gotten a lot of laughs out of this guy, but I would imagine his is a very dark, stressful world.

A little biatcharlie Sheen, but more (a dumber) Ted Cruz than Ted Kennedy.

It makes for a good sound-bite.  And on it's face, sure it's a great idea, lets build subways everywhere, woohoo!
But relative to the LRT plan, that covered pretty much all of Scarborough (and had budgeted financing in place) vs. a three stop subway that covers a single strip of Scarborough for just 7kms and costs a billion dollars more.  He must have something really dirty on Stintz for her to have flip/floped on it, there is a really good pro LRT op-ed written by her less that two years ago.

In the next election, if Tory and Stintz split the vote on the right and Chow wins by a margin equal to the votes Ford picks up in Ford Nation (aka Etobicoke), I'll have a sad.

"I have a weight issue."

The obvious tag was born for this moment.

Oh, it's not just an issue. It's a lifetime subscription.

Subscription, hell--dare I say it, Rob Ford has not mere issues or subscriptions but the farking Library and Archives of Canada at this rate.  Possibly the Queen's Printing House for the whole of the Commonwealth of Nations, even.  Henry Earl, were he immediately transported from the warm bosom of a Lexington jail (where he is sleeping off his fifteen-thousandth-odd-and-counting public intoxication arrest) to the Mayor's seat in Toronto, would probably be MORE functional at this rate than Rob Ford.  At least his drunken hilarity would involve a bit less hanging out with white supremacists and claiming "I did not see that coming!" when pointed out :D

Which is what we call a Montreal hooker.

Now we're getting somewhere.  Rob Ford, Charlie Sheen, Ted Kennedy's ghost, Marion Barry, with Bill Clinton.  Let's throw in some Blago as a legal and moral compass advisor.

aintitahoot: Heads-up from the WTFark video team here:

Ford's latest gaffe: Saying he's going to ask the federal government for money to help repair Toronto's public housing - a month after he voted against doing just that. Then claiming that under his tenure as mayor, the public housing situation is "100 times better than it was three years ago" - when in fact the repair backlog costs have risen by 430% and number of people on the waiting list has soared to 90,000.

So, in saying he's giving up drinking, he's saying he's suggesting he's sticking to using illegal drugs.  Either that or he's thinking in terms of doing his best to show he's cleaned up his act in order to get re-elected.

/Toronto residents must feel so proud!
//oh wait, Marion Barry, while mayor of D.C., had some drug issues some years back

Ford's handlers are no more. His chief of staff was fired, his next chief was sent to the deputy mayor, and his campaign manager is now working for a competitor. His only handler is his sociopath of a brother.

Rob Ford has landed in Ottawa, Let's see if he can find the meeting...

/*update* he will give a presser ahead of the meeting at city hall, seems he found the place.

Rob Ford looks like he has a note he wants pass to the woman in the back row but can't figure out how to without being caught by the teacher...
Naheed Nenshi in the middle looks like the kid that studied all week and is ready for the test...
And Don Iverson from Edmonton looks like he's trying to find simpler words to explain to Rob how LRT's do in cold weather.

nope, sorry.

He's bailing anyway, too cool for school... not going to the afternoon session.  Probably going to go smoke under the bleachers with the cool kids.

Bummer, it would have been interesting to watch it even without him there (yeah, I'm a nerd). Can't say I'm surprised he bailed, though. Having to restrain his usual meeting behavior style was probably making him overheat. I bet he was a lovely shade of fuschia by the time he walked out.

If he was only going to do one of the sessions and was even a little serious about why they all were there, the Minister for Housing is going to be there this afternoon.
The almost finished stadium for the Red Blacks is a bigger draw.
I joked up-thread about being in touch with my inner 12 year old, Ford is his inner 12 year old.

OH FFS...

His office says they didn't know the Minister was going to be there...  SO HE'S GOING BACK.
(it was clearly on the agenda)
An earlier report from his office said he had a plane to catch at 6, the Minister was to be there at 4, so he was going to have to cut the meeting short anyway to catch the plane.
(the agenda also had the schedule)

He can still make his flight on time. He'll probably walk in and say "we need money for housing" and then when the Minister replies "please submit a proposal" he'll storm out and hold a press conference biatching that the feds refused to commit money to help.
