On the other hand, if you're a lonely gay Ugandan, here's a list of potential mates.

This is the top news on Google this morning. Really?  It tops Ukraine, Venezuela and the Dali Lama?  FFS it's Uganda, that progressive country that produced Idi Amin, several wars and colorful fashion.

Move along, people, nothing to see here.

Remember boys and girls. There's a large number of conservatives who would like to bring this charming world to our shores. Hell, they worked their asses off to set it up in Uganda.

HypnozombieX: large number of conservatives who would like to bring this charming world to our shores

Large number, like five?  Citation on conservatives who want to publish lists of gays/lesbians in the US, please.  Or is "your shore" a neighboring state in North Africa?  It makes a difference.

This bill in Uganda was lobbied for pretty heavily by US conservative groups.

The federal government should start imposing economic sanctions on bigoted states too.

I was wondering about that. I thought I'd read that US evangelical/crazy groups had been trying to put into law there what they can't do in the US. I'm inclined to believe that and think that this should warn people who may be tempted to take these nutballs as anything less than a threat as regards their political agenda in the US.

Ugandan "scientists" say they have "proved" that homosexuality is a choice, not genetic, therefore gays should be slaughtered.

That's essentially what the president of a country is saying.

Well, since his shocking ignorance and lack of compassion is a choice and not genetic, I think he should be slaughtered by gay snu snu.

I fear for these people.   Even if they manage to not get thrown in prison, they've now become targets for people "deciding" to take the law into their own hands and murder them outright.

I HOPE that enough countries and the UN will have the guts to completely withdraw all support and recall their ambassadors until the law is removed.   But I suspect that won't happen.

I was going to come out as a gay Ugandan, but now they made it illegal.

Oh well, I guess I'm not gay then.

If your on the list, but not gay. How do you prove it? Without getting arrested for public sex.

You guys are ignoring what top scientists have discovered. Here comes the science:

"They're disgusting. What sort of people are they?" he said. "I never knew what they were doing. I've been told recently that what they do is terrible. Disgusting. But I was ready to ignore that if there was proof that that's how he is born, abnormal. But now the proof is not there."
Museveni had commissioned a group of Ugandan government scientists to study whether homosexuality is "learned," concluding that it is a matter of choice.
"I was regarding it as an inborn problem," he said. "Genetic distortion -- that was my argument. But now our scientists have knocked this one out."

Don't argue with science, guys.
