Something else in Minnesota is going to implode this year?

That's refreshing.

Looks like they only got half the job done.

Seems about right.

Came here to say this.  They can't even fall down right.

Oh for those golden days of yore when Vikings could be expected to rape, pillage, loot and plunder before razing the village.  These days the Vikings can't even get the final thing done right.

Man, that dome is like a kid out there...no...no...

I wouldn't even say half. Maybe a third?

Those people in the middle video were stupid. Did they really have to scream about an implosion they knew was going to happen?

Still can't believe it's gone. I mean it looked like a dump when I went by it, but it's been a part of Minneapolis for a long time.

Okay, from doing a little reading up on the subject from the Star-Tribune, apparently they originally only wanted to take down the support ring for the dome itself.  The corners look like they just decided to take down the parts that wouldn't be expensive to bring down (i.e., wouldn't have to worry about covering the streets that surround the stadium on 3 sides); though I don't know why they didn't bother bringing down the southeast side (the side that faces the parking lot).

Thanks for the link. I figured they didn't intend to take the whole thing down but then the jokes aren't as good.

They forgot to strap Kent Hrbek to that wall.  They didn't use enough explosives.  They forgot to strap a rocket to the 1991 World Series trophy and launch it towards Atlanta.

Since the Vikings are renowned for quitting after the first half...

At the same time, it was probably done by the same outfit that demolished the corner of the Met Center.

I saw four concerts there , one Twins game and several Vikings games when they played the Raiders both pre-season and regular. Even though it was kinda small I always thought "Jeeez this place is big" when I looked at the field and seating.

I sure hope the new place has much better parking.

Anyone have the indoor camera footage? :)

/Cue the camera footage of the collapse from the snow a couple of years ago.

Jokes on you, they are building the new stadium in the exact same place so yea don't see parking improving.

The new stadium will have no surface parking at all. The entire old Metrodome site will be one huge building. They plan on having some parking ramps around the building and the light rail line. No tailgating at all it sounds. Unless they will allowing cooking out in the three block long park they are going to build next to the place.

It's hard to say the Vikings imploded when the expectations weren't that high. Now the Texans, Falcons, and Skins imploded.

/We should call them the reverse-Vikings, anyway

What do the Minnesota Vikings and Billy Graham have in common?

They can both make 60,000 stand up and say "Jesus Christ!"

at least they're building a new stadium... the Bills on the other hand...

So, did they blow up the Ring of Honor?  How about the Ring of Stupidity?  Ragnar? Or is it, Jagnar? He needed to be blown up, too.

Whelp Minnesota/Twin Cities, you've:
-bought the Target Center and renovated it
-built an arena for the Wild
-put a ton of money into Target Field
-put a ton of money in TCF Field
and now you're footing a lot of the bill for the Vikings new stadium?

God help you in 5 years when the Timberwolves decide they want a new place

Yeah, doesn't seem like a very good job on the implosion...

And what the fark was wrong with the stupid biatches in the second video, what did they THINK was gonna happen when explosives went off in a concrete building? Were they expecting unicorns to rise out of the Metrodome farting rainbows, or something?
