No, buzzfeed copying out sites like reddit's non stop crowd sourced coverage has become a lazy journalists stop.

The action was on /r/worldnews and /r/ukraine

buzzfeed gets almost all its content direct ripped from reddit, then sites like fark get paid by buzzfeed to promote it.

So if you want to just cut out the middle man, keep up with reddit and occasionally twitter feeds, and of course the bbc still does actual reporting.

American media? They sit around reposting stuff from crowdsourced sites and twitter feeds. I kept remembering how great CNN was 25 years ago during the various European revolutions and the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the contrast of then to now is striking in how poor CNN is.

And now let's show you some tweets, because that's cheaper and easier than doing our own reporting.

The BBC is only a little better than CNN these days. Al Jazeera English is decent, thankfully.

That shiat all costs money. So much cheaper to have somebody monitor a twitter feed. Sure, long-term that costs you market share, but who cares about anything further away than the next quarter these days?

We used to watch CNN when we were deployed overseas because they had good, solid intel.  That's when I was working in S2, which made it even worse.

That stupid word. It's an automatic 'stopped reading right there' for me. If I see it in an ad I assume the advertiser's more crooked and manipulative than average.

I'd love to know the reasons behind why we see that word everywhere. I'm guessing someone did a study on ads and headlines in 2011 or 2012 that garnered the most clicks and this word was at the top of the list, and now it's a cliché.

Maybe you should consider that your brand name recognition of some websites as more trustworthy than others is not necessarily based on more than mere marketing. Your criticism of American television media seems sound, but if newspaper reporters, who have editors and fact checkers, support Buzzfeed then maybe you should recalibrate your opinion. Maybe?

Lol whats a newspaper, and they laid off the fact checkers 2 pink slip rounds ago.

Buzzfeed sucks and is a leech on legitimate content. If reporters are using it, that says a lot more about how desperate some reporters are rather than buzzfeed suddenly quit being a parasite.

I thought he trolled gravity?

Listen, if Buzzfeed is so great, how come here at Fark we are stuck with the 3-4 headlines repeating?

As for the black people not amused with white people...can you imagine if the headline and pictures were reversed?

Anyone who is trying to scoop anyone in a riot-like environment is doing a poor job.

"THEY KILLED HER"
"SOMEONE DIED, LOOK AT THIS EMOTIONALLY GRIPPING IMAGE"
"OMG THAT MAKES ME FEEL TERRIBLE THEREFORE THIS SITUATION IS TERRIBLE, LET ME POST IT TO FACEBOOK"
"I SAW THIS ON FACEBOOK, THEY'RE MURDERING WOMEN WITH RECKLESS ABANDON"

"Oh, hey, not dead yet."
*crickets*

People need to take the farking 24/7 needle out of their vein and start looking for factual information rather than 'the latest breaking news'.  Merely getting accused of a high profile crime is almost as damaging as actually having done it.

At the risk of things I won't give a fark about, but fark fark for letting buzzfeed fund the liquor wagon with it's uncommentable shiat, and shiat rotating headlines such as this. So not only is it shiat I will never look at by choice so help me "itg god", but it's completely lazy and repetitive shiat. Weeks later and all the new headlines and need available and we can still "herpity derp ndt trolls twitter". Worthless link taking up what could be a quality garbage submission, and we aren't even allowed to flagrantly mock it and discuss how bad we will never willingly visit buzzfeed by choice. Double fark fark for this.
