Its pretty cut and dry. Private property owners have the right to band firearms from their premises. She has nothing to stand on.

Even gun shows do not allow loaded weapons to be carried into the show.  I'm almost sure the Eagle arms guns shows don't allow concealed carry weapons.

i have a constitutional right to come into work wearing a mesh half-shirt and bulge-enhancing short-shorts, but it still might get me fired.

She had an employment contract with her employer. She violated it. She was fired. Her rights were never violated, she had voluntarily given this one up while employed.

I'd let her clean my gun anytime ifyouknowwhatimeanandithinkyoudo.

The SCOTUS is clear on this. Hell, Scalia supports the rights of states and businesses to restrict firearms. I know people go nuts on OUR FREEDUMBSSSSSS, but there is an asterisk next to all of our freedoms. And for good reason.

Maybe if you were more serious about leg day at the gym, there wouldn't be a problem.

So I can go up to my boss and say, "Hey you fat asshole, do you know if your daughter sucks a mean dick?  I wanna tap that ass right on your farking desk." and then cite the 1st Amendment when he tries to fire me?

With that kind of reading comprehension I'm sure she gave outstanding financial advice.

"get out of this government-monitored oppression factory and buy all the gold and buckets of Apocalypse Chow Jesus tells Glenn Beck tells you to NOW! The FDIC isn't in the Constituion!!!"

Yes, and your boss can smash you in the mouth with a 20 lb. sack of pennies (approx. 3620 pennies) because money is speech.

You are assuming all the pennies are 1982 or newer.  Sloppy work.

As a gun owner and supporter of the 2nd Amendment, let me welcome you to the losing side of a lawsuit, Ms. Ross.

She's got nothin.

And this too.

You have the right to own firearms, and use them on your private property. You have the right, within the boundaries established by federal and state laws, to carry firearms - either open or concealed, provided you do so in a lawful, non-threatening and safe manner.

You do NOT have the right to bring your firearms onto a private business or into a private home when you have been told not to do so, or it is posted that they are not allowed into the premises based on state law. And this is not hard to follow. Hell, even in places that do not allow weapons in the premises, many states allow you to lawfully store it in the trunk or a car lockbox.

"I'm a manager of a bank," Ros said. "We have a lot of robberies that happen in our banks. I feel safer having that weapon if I ever needed to protect my employees."

Good thinking. Banks don't have carefully-researched (and I'm betting training, including her) for what to do in a robbery. Good thing she was there to act on her own fir that.

Yeah, I'd fire her based on not grasping the massive liability she's opening the bank up to, if she misses Johnny Bank Robber and accidentally drills Janey Bank Customer.

Gun owner and strong RKBA proponent weighing in here....

She has a right to keep and bear arms (subject to constitutional laws regulating that right).
She voluntarily took a job with Wells Fargo. One of the conditions she agreed to was not to carry guns onto Wells Fargo property.
She's an idiot.

In protest, 2nd amendments rights advocates will begin shooting movie theatre patrons for texting and shooting teenagers for playing loud music.

This lawsuit's going to go the way of all such stupidity - frothy, short, and sweet. Private property owners, as has been clearly and repeatedly stated, have the right to ban arms on their property. End of story.

The only reason this is even being reported is to manufacture "controversy" among the easily led, so that the media outlet in question can sell ads.

2014-02-22 03:01:13 PM
Lady, you gonna lose. Your rights under the Constitution don't trump private property rights, and your lawyer is an idiot who's leading you on thinking he's going to set some precedent.

Sorry chuckles, but she's no Marbury or Madison.

Ayup. Besides, if her bank was getting robbed "all the time", she sounds like a shiatty manager.

2014-02-22 03:02:07 PM
This sounds pretty dumb. Its not like it wasn't against company policy and its not like private entities are bound by constitutional law. I'm surprised that she's surprised she got fired. Her fault for not knowing company policy

It's all been said. Except for one thing: I guaran-damn-tee you that WF consulted legal before firing her. You don't fire people without talking to your legal representation first, for just this reason.

/Only tangentially related: F*ck Wells Fargo. Worst bank ever.
