(ABC2News Baltimore)   It isn't just NBC coverage of the Olympics that sucks; every country in the world is obsessed with national athletes' influential dead relatives, heartwarming struggles, their Lycra-covered breasts and biased officiating. Here's a quick roundup   (abc2news.com) divider line 22

The vast majority of U.S. viewers tune in during prime time for a curated selection of crappy commentary, homogenized clips of the day's events, tons of human interest stories and pointless interviews, and of course those sweet sweet spoilers disguising as Today show promostaped highlights.

NBC and Olympics have not gone together for years. Too bad we have no true national broadcaster like all the other countries do

But what would Bode Miller's dead brother have to say about the coverage?

I'd pay a fee just to watch the Olympics without the competitions being interrupted and without the backstories of the athletes. As it is I haven't watched any of the Olympics, just got the results online.

Canadian television has about 4 or 5 live feeds on different networks around the clock of various different events, regardless of nationalities.  There's also a 3 to 4 hour highlights show, but it has almost no "human interest" stories (generally, this is conducted through live interviews with the athletes and their families).  The commentators are fair and respect all nations, and are very careful to not be overly Canadian centric, but that does creep in a bit: the tv folks are humans, of course.  Most major more Canadian-style events (i.e. hockey, curling) are streamed for free on the government broadcasting site (cbc.ca).

In short: you Yankees totally get cheated of the Olympics.

FTFA "Canada's national obsession was evident Wednesday, when the prime-time telecast opened with 40 minutes on the men's hockey team's tense 2-1 victory over Latvia to reach the gold medal game, even though many Canadians stopped work to watch it live during the day."

Looks like ABC is censoring US results that do not go their way.

It is what it is: FTFA "Canada's national obsession was evident Wednesday, when the prime-time telecast opened with 40 minutes on the men's hockey team's tense 2-1 victory over Latvia to reach the gold medal game, even though many Canadians stopped work to watch it live during the day."

The article isn't a criticism, subby was just being a dumbass. The article is just discussing the various focal points in different countries.

The difference between the NBC abd CBC coverage is massive amount of live feed, which includes the vast majority of events on TV (including many events without Canadians being relevant in). Hell, the CBC and multiple
other networks were airing live feeds while NBC was still pretending it was the day before with their delayed material.

Yes, the NBC coverage sucks horribly.

Am I the only one whose has access to the NBC streams through the NBC Sports app? I spent nearly an entire afternoon watching two-man bobsled with some British guy commenting.
