I'm enjoying him in his post-Doc roles.

Broadchurch was a nice British crime show. The whole season ... one murder. Very British. Americans would have bodies falling all over the place. There'd be more deaths than population in that small town. Japanese would be like enemies teleporting in by the thousands to be slayed with seas of cartoonish blood.

Will they change the name now to Pet Shop Bros?

Sounds like a great use of his talents.  Not sure if I could stomach Anna Gunn, though.  Will give it a shot, since I mostly-liked Broadchurch.

/It tended to drag on and on and on, though.

I got about five minutes into a bootleg of that pilot before ejecting and trying to wipe it from my mind.

Hopefully his dialect coach was mean as hell to him this time around.  I loved Broadchurch, hoping the US version keeps the awesomeness.

it's not great... but it's nowhere near as bad as "the governor" from walking dead or, worst of all-time, bob hoskins in who framed roger rabbit.

I think the "unprecedented" part is having the same actor play the same role on both side of the pond.

LewDux: Will they change the name now to Pet Shop Bros?

Fun Fact: Tennant actually borrowed his last name from PSB's Tennant. Or perhaps you already knew that.

Did he even make an attempt?  I just figured he'd said 'fark it' and just talked in his normal voice.

Every time I hear a complaint about his accent in that movie all I can think is "He had an accent?"

I have a theory that Joyce Barnaby is actually a mass murderer and Tom was just covering up for her.

I don't understand who the market is for Broadchurch America. If you even know enough about British TV to know what Broadchurch is, you've already watched it.

/Tennant's beard looks less terrible though

Eh, his accent isn't terrible. The worst was James Callis during his stint on Eureka. The only explanation for it is that it was payback for Dick Van Dyke.

The worst accent on Eureka was Matt Frewer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Frewer ) struggling to do an Australian accent.  Much as I like him, it was a relief when he left the show, as I couldn't stand watching him embarrass himself every week!

Oh, yes. I completely forgot about him. I cannot tell you how much I laughed when I saw the pilot and heard him trying to speak.

That's irrelevant.   The same actor played the role (even if the series wasn't picked up) on both sides of the pond, as the original statement read.

What's that huge beige box doing glued to the back of the screen? It's the part that Winger's arm is holding on to.

Also, I need Ayoade to show up on Community and insist that Jeff is an actor, not a lawyer, and he has videotape as proof.

/Or just have Moss pass Abed in the hallway as a throwaway gag. Abed: "Moss" [nods]. Moss: "Abed" [nods]. Both continue walking in opposite directions.

Eh, all they have to do is a handwave one liner about how he spent time in Scotland when his dad was in the military. It'll cover for those times when he can't keep in the brogue.

/John Barrowman can do either accent just fine thanks to his years in the US as a kid.
