They got breaks? Lazy kids.

Those kids are supposedly shoe shiners, yet look how clean their hands and clothes are. I got black tipped fingers after one session with my Balmorals. Their pants also look freshly ironed. It's a nice vintage shot, but street photography it's not.

A Kubrick deserves a Kubrick.

I used to drive by those towers every day as a kid. Couldn't tell you where to find them now though.

would've been a vote if you'd inserted the "en" in Frankenfurter. tsk tsk

Not really necessary since he was referred to in both ways in the movie. For instance:

You're a hot dog, but you better not try to hurt her, Frank Furter.

So you're abstinence may be misjudged.

That's subtle and wrong.

If you want to compare the value of a $0.10 Commodity in 1947 there are four choices. In 2012 the relative:

real price of that commodity is $1.03
real value of that commodity is $1.50
labor value of that commodity is $1.75 (using the unskilled wage) or $2.09 (using production worker compensation)
income value of that commodity is $2.98

And that is why you don't see shoeshine boys any more. That and $300 sports shoes made of cardboard and chap synthetic cloth.

I can get you a unicorn if you don't mind it looking like a rhinoceros.

I don't remember shines costing a dime back then, I would have thought $0.05.
yes, I was there.
