This story is why people still want to come to America. He may have had a hard time getting what he wanted, but he wasn't prevented from getting what he wanted. He was given the oppurtunity to achieve his dreams. Most Americans take this for granted and too many complain when things don't go their way, forgetting that hard work is required to achieve most dreams. Immigrants to America come from places where hard work is the norm not the execption. When they get to America they continue to work hard and they achieve their dreams, while too many self entitled life long Americans complain that work is hard. I don't mean to say that you need to get all boot-strapy and take care of yourself without any help from others, but you cannot sit back and expect others to care about you when you obviously don't care enough to help yourself.

Man, what a great story. All those years after that racist librarian told him he couldn't check out books, the library was named after him. Well done Sir, well done indeed.

We're saying that child would still be alive if the librarian had stood her ground?

Or.

Desegregation kills black children?
